Punto Principal: Como cristianos, tenemos una gran oportunidad de glorificar a Dios llevando el mensaje de reconciliación al mundo perdido e impactamos la eternidad.

1. Siendo reconciliado con Dios. (2 Corintios 5:17-18)

3. Siendo obediente al llamado a evangelizar. (2 Corintios 5:19)

Main Point: As Christians, we have an awesome opportunity to glorify God as we take the message of reconciliation to a lost world and impact eternity.

2 Corinthians 5:17-21  17  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.  18  Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,  19  that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not  [a] imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 20  Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.  21  For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

I Can Impact Eternity by:

1. Being reconciled to God (2 Cor 5:17-18) 17  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new
creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.  18  Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 

2. Being a good ambassador for Jesus Christ (2 Cor 5:20)
20  Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we
implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

3. Being obedient to God’s call for us to evangelize (2 Cor 5:19)
that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses
to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

Versículo Clave: Romanos 5:10   Porque si siendo enemigos, fuimos reconciliados con Dios por la muerte de su Hijo, mucho más, estando reconciliados, seremos salvos por su vida.

Punto Principal: Como cristianos, podemos glorificar a Dios conforme experimentamos y compartimos la paz y el gozo de saber que ya no somos enemigos de Dios.  

Ya no somos enemigos de Dios significa que:

1. Merecíamos el CASTIGO de Dios.

Main Point: As Christians, we can glorify God as we experience and share the peace and joy that comes from the understanding that we’re no longer enemies of God.

No longer being enemies of God means:

1. We deserved God’s PUNISHMENT 

2. We have received God’s PARDON 

3. We enjoy God’s PEACE (2 Cor 5:19)

Last week, we talked about aiming to please God with our lives. About the need to be intentional, accountable and reasonable.  

Key Verse:  Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

Main Point: God is glorified when people are transformed by the Holy Spirit and live new lives that honor Him.

Introduction: 

2 Corinthians 5:16-17   Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

We will be looking at this portion of scripture to consider the wonderful truth that when a person surrenders their life to Christ, they are made a new creation and receive a fresh start in life.

To Experience a Fresh Start, One Must:

1. Consider Time (2 Corinthians 5:16) Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer.

• Present:1 Peter 2:9
• Future: Ephesians 1:13; Romans 8:15-17

2. Re-evaluate People (2 Corinthians 5:16) Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. 

3. Re-appraise Things (2 Corinthians 5:17) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Punto Principal: Viviendo para agradar a Dios honra a Dios y nos da claridad y simplicidad a nuestras vidas.

Introducción:

Vivir para agradar a Dios requiere ser:

1. Intencional 

• 2 Corintios 5:9  Por tanto procuramos también, o ausentes o presentes, serle agradables. 
• Daniel 1:8  Y Daniel propuso en su corazón no contaminarse con la porción de la comida del rey, ni con el vino que él bebía; pidió, por tanto, al jefe de los eunucos que no se le obligase a contaminarse.
• Matthew 3:17 Y hubo una voz de los cielos, que decía: Este es mi Hijo amado, en quien tengo complacencia.

2. Responsible 

• (“Contabilidad”) 2 Corintios 5:10 Porque es necesario que todos nosotros comparezcamos ante el tribunal de Cristo, para que cada uno reciba según lo que haya hecho mientras estaba en el cuerpo, sea bueno o sea malo.
• 2 Corintios 13:5 Examinaos a vosotros mismos si estáis en la fe; probaos a vosotros mismos. ¿O no os conocéis a vosotros mismos, que Jesucristo está en vosotros, a menos que estéis reprobados?

10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

Main Point: Living to please God brings Him glory and grants us clarity and simplicity for our lives.

• Introduction:
  • 2 Corinthians 5:9-15   Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. 11 Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences.12 For we do not commend ourselves again to you, but give you opportunity to boast on our behalf, that you may have an answer for those who boast in appearance and not in heart. 13 For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; or if we are of sound mind, it is for you. 14 For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; 15 and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.
  •  We will be looking at this portion of scripture to consider our purpose for living in order to simplify our lives and get rid of things that cause us unnecessary grief. To ask ourselves what it is that we are aiming for in life. We will draw out 3 characteristics that are required in order to live to please God.

Living to please God requires being:

Intentional  

• 2 Corinthians 5:9 "Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him."  
• Daniel 1:8  But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
• Matthew 3:17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Accountable 

• (2 Cor 5:10) For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. 
• 2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.
• James 5:16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, [b]fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Reasonable 

• (2 Cor 5:14) For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died;
• Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 

Key Verse:    2 Corinthians 4:16-18 That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day.

Main Point: Being mindful of and investing in eternity is the way to enjoy life and to glorify God.

2 Corinthians 5:1-8   

We will be looking at this portion of scripture to gain an eternal perspective for our lives. We will draw out 3 aspects about the need to live with eternity on our minds and hearts in order to better deal with circumstances around us.

Entertaining Eternity Means:

1. Accepting our Frailty 2 Cor 5:1-4 

We tend to fear what we don’t understand, and fear causes stress and anxiety. 

Ecclesiastes 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.

James 4:14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.

Psalm 90:12 So teach us to number our days,That we may gain a heart of wisdom.

1 Corinthians 15:26  The last enemy that will be destroyed is death.

Romans 6:23, 3:23, John 11:25 

2. Understanding God’s Favor (2 Corinthians 5:5-6)

• God has purposed this for us
• John 14:1-3
• Romans 8:28-30
• Has given us the Spirit as a guarantee 2 Corinthians 5:5

Ephesians 1:13-14  13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

3. Believing our Future (2 Corinthians 5:7-8)

Faith Heb 11:6 And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

• Absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8  

Romans 8:16-18 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

• Do you believe that God loves you? That He is for you and not against you? 

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
