Idaho State Rep. Chad Christensen (R-Iona) has dropped an attempt to rally support for impeaching Gov. Brad Little. According to the Idaho Press, that’s after just a week of trying to garner support for the effort. The call for impeachment follows a larger pattern of the Republican state legislature at odds with the Republican governor over issues related to his coronavirus response. 

But while this effort dead, we wanted to know: how would an impeachment of a governor work in Idaho? And what might be next in the battle for power between the executive and legislative branches in the state?

Boise State University political science professor Jaclyn Kettler spoke with Idaho Matters to give some context and analysis for these questions.
