All the world’s pride, from man-worship to idolatry to feminine extravagance, will be judged by the Lord. In our text this Lord’s Day, Isaiah charges Judah—and the rest of mankind—with varying kinds of pride and explains the judgement of God that will come.

The Lord Jesus’ I Am statements are some of the most clear attestations to His own Deity and to His centrality to salvation. This Lord’s Day evening, we will begin our new series in the I Am statements by first considering the very first I am statement in Exodus.

Isaiah sees a vision of the nations flocking to Christ and benefiting from His wisdom. He then encourages the Israelites to live holy lives in light of this future. This Lord’s Day we will consider this vision and its application.

If anyone had reason to put their confidence in the flesh it was the apostle Paul. However, when compared to the worth of knowing Christ, he regards all his legal righteousness as a loss instead of gain. This evening, we will consider what it means to know Christ and see how it is essential to our Christian life.

A destructive result of sin is the enmity it has caused between man and the Almighty God. In Romans 5:1-11, Paul encourages the saints in Rome of the peace they now enjoy with God through faith in Jesus. We then explore implications of this peace with God in our daily Christian living, and the hope we have in future glory.

Because the Scriptures are the Word of the Lord—the revelation of the true and living God—they have effects on us that are better than the effects of anything else we can read, study, watch, or listen to. In this passage we will consider how God has revealed Himself, and why it is important to be diligent in our efforts towards reading our bibles.

The Christian pilgrim’s journey has many things that seek to derail the pilgrim. We look at a Psalm that speaks to how the Lord works to keep the pilgrim on the path.

Paul’s concluding remarks to the Galatians compares the worldly intentions of the false teachers with the true gospel message that is centered on the Cross of Christ.

As the Lord closes His argument against the Israelites, He declares to them that there will be a remnant of faithful ones among them and that He will have a Jerusalem that is what He desires. In this passage we learn an important lesson: God’s plans can never be defeated.

Isaiah accuses Judah of having lifeless and vain religious activity. In his account, we see what kind of religion the Lord desires.
