I have been asked to cover one of the members of the Canadian super team Alpha Flight, and what better way to do it than with an actual Canadian. My friend Chris, from the great northern nation, actually joins me to discuss the landmark character Northstar. As the first openly gay super hero in major comics, he did a lot to build on social awareness amongs comics and readers. Also as a former member of the Quebec separatist movement, Northstar helped give some awareness of the political climate in Canada at the time.
