Charity East has always known Jesus, grew up in a wonderful Christian family.  But early in life this idea locked in:  “If I follow Jesus and all the rules, God will give me a safe, painless life.”  That was shattered when her doctor told her:  “The son you’re about to have is going to face some lifelong challenges.”  Next, it was being sued by a landlord and then it was something completely off radar:  A divorce.  This left Charity wondering if she could trust God.  So, she decided to protect herself.  But that just left her trying to be the messiah.  It was impossible!  All this has led Charity to realize more deeply that no amount of rule keeping can make her right with God, only a relationship with Jesus does that.  She knows now that she has been rescued by Jesus to be dangerous:  Rescued to live an unsafe, uncomfortable, risky life of faith that can change our world!
