I was recently hipped to "Revenge of the Iron Lich" by someone on Discord. It was given extremely high praise and, as it is currently FREE on DriveThruRPG, I thought: what do I have to lose? Join me on a jaunt into a mid-level dungeon from the forgotten edition that was 4E!

Yeah, yeah, I'm a bit late to the party with this one but as I keep seeing GMs reference Thanos as a template for their BBEGs, I figured that I would put together a video taking a look at it. For my money, what makes Thanos compelling isn't his powers or abilities but his motivations for amassing those powers and letting them loose on an unsuspecting universe. Let's talk about it.

Hail and well met, Dungeon Masters! Recorded from my secret lair in Brooklyn, here's another episode of the Dungeon Master's Screed, in which I ramble through a handful of topics. This time, I touch on metagaming, TPKs, and what, if anything, constitutes a fair encounter. Don't leave me talking to myself, give me your thoughts in the comments on any of these topics or anything else. I'm ready to believe you!

Hail and well met, Dungeon Masters! Follow me through the nostalgia tunnel to a time of great adventure! Where keeps were kept, the borderlands were well bordered, and the caves were filled to bursting with chaos! Listen well as we explore one of the more famous modules of antiquity, second of the "B" series, "The Keep on the Borderlands"!

Hail and well met, Dungeon Masters! We got some psionically enhanced unearthed arcana last week that I wanted to take a look at so here I am, taking a look. Nothing is quite as divisive as psionics in Dungeons & Dragons. Let's see how Wizards tries to navigate this thorny expanse this time around. Allocate some psi points to defense and follow me!

Hail and well met, Dungeon Masters! I posted a free one page hex to spice up your hexcrawl or wilderness campaign. Talking about that leads me down a path of exploring sprucing up your hex maps with unusual features, elemental planar crossovers, the Loch Ness monster, and more fodder and inspiration for your hex-centric Dungeons & Dragons campaign.

Recorded on Easter Sunday so happy Easter, Dungeon Masters and Dungeon Delvers! In this extended ramble, I talk abou Rule of Cool and try to figure out how to use it in the context of the game without leaving it on to abuse. TLDR; let's mechanize it. I chose to tie it to Inspiration (and I talk about how to make Inspiration something more mechanically and transparently achievable) and put it into the players' hands to evoke.

I hope everyone is safe and healthy! I'm here with a quick chat about Adam Koebel and dealing with gaffes in our Dungeons and Dragons or other tabletop roleplaying game. They happen to the best of us and they will happen to us. If we can't avoid them, what can we do to mitigate them?

Hey Dungeon Masters, happy Sunday! Recording is a challenge for me during these Coronavirus times but I'm trying! I got out of the house to stretch my legs in the park snd thought it would be as good a time as any to talk about running games using Theater of the Mind.

Another busy week for me outside gaming but I found a few minutes to talk about something that's been on my mind recently: the concept that the DM is resonsible for the players' fun. I don't think they are, at least not directly and definitely not solely. A GM has plenty of jobs and responsibilities in the game but it's the entire table that is responsible for the table's fun, not any one player. And the GM is a player too!
