Had a full house in this installment of the RPG Breakfast Chat. Listen in as we talk up the frozen fantasy apocalypse RPG, "The Chronicles of Ember"; Tiger Balm, Cricket, and undead civil servants in FASA's 1879 RPG; and talk a little shop on printing posters through drivethrurpg with a bit of Judges Guild chatter mixed in.

Hey everyone, I've got a special episode of the RPG Breakfast Chat here in which yours truly sits down virtually (though I'm sure we were both sitting down) with Matt Finch of Frog God Games and Fat Dragon Games. We go about two hours getting into Swords & Wizardry, OSR gaming, running convention games with twenty players (20!!!), and more besides! Hope you enjoy the conversation as much as I did. Listen on!

Hey Dungeon Masters, warlock patrons are wonderful entities to pull into your Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, as full blown BBEGs or secondary villains, allies, or even just color. But before you pull the trigger on building your campaign elements around these entities, do one thing first: talk to your Warlock player! Not every Warlock player will be as excited or even on board at all with these decisions. Because a patron is so intricately and intimately connected to both the mechanical and fictional powers of a character, the player playing that character deserves some say in if and how these elements are engaged with. Have that conversation! It's the right thing to do.

Audio from my YouTube livestream on demystifying random encounters. I try to explain a bit, at a high level, what they are, what they're for, and how you can leverage them for your campaigns. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you may feel compelled to roll dice. Listen on, fellow Dungeon Delvers!

Wizards of the Coast has announced their first supplement for 2020, a sourcebook for the Critical Role setting, "Wildemount". The reception has been, in the corners that I frequent, decidely mixed. Here's my not-very-hot take on it.

Happy holidays! In this Out of Character episode, I talk to Will about Home Alone, the John Hughes penned Christman classic from the early nineties. As a bonus, we look at two holiday action films: Die Hard and Lethal Weapon. Why has Die Hard been embraced as a Christmas film with Lethal Weapon has not? Perhaps Mr. Joshua knows.

CUT MY HEART OUT AND THROW ME TO THE WOLVES! A teaser for a new Dungeons & Dragons video game, "Dark Alliance", dropped and, yeah, dropped is the right word for it. Here's my reaction. I'm happy that a game is coming but this, judging by the trailer, may not be the game that I'm looking for. The wolves may be feasting on many hearts tonight but, hopefully, lessons will be learned and the final game will rise like a glorious phoenix from the ashes of Drizzt's fiery tears.
