My wide-ranging interview with Director Kat Jayme covers off Big Country Bryant Reeves, the Vancouver Grizzlies, Wonder Woman and the unavoidable discussion surrounding racism and voice across media today.
Plus - finding motivation during a time when we all need it the most.

My guest in this episode is Dayna Palmer, Marketing Manager at Pizza 73 - a former all-time favourite client and now good friend. My discussion with Dayna covers some of our previous client/agency work (we put hot dogs on Tinder, looking for dates), how pizza is the OG player in the delivery game and the undisputed, go-to comfort food for just about everyone. Not to mention the value of connection (with customers, friends and family) during the social distancing reality.
This episode features audio content from a conference panel that I moderated for the "Sponsorship Connect" Conference, hosted by The Sponsorship Space: https://www.thesponsorshipspace.com/
I'm joined by:
Dewayne Hankins: CMO and Innovation Officer, Portland Trailblazers https://www.nba.com/blazers/
This conversation covers ideas and strategies ranging from COVID-19 adaptions in sports marketing to digital innovation and evolution for both brands and partners in the sponsorship industry. Insightful perspectives from NBA teams, international sports federations and agency professionals!
And a massive shout out to Avish Sood (https://www.linkedin.com/in/avish-sood-a573b420/), Co-Founder of The Sponsorship Space for organizing this conference. Over $10,000 was raised to support food banks in Canada and the USA through attendee donations.
RAW AND UNFILTERED: I took the COVID-19 conversation to the streets.
How can you own your digital space? Where should you start when looking to build your digital brand, right now?
It all starts with understanding audiences.
In 5 minutes or less, this episode identifies digital audience types and outlines the shift in priority away from social to owned media, which should have always been important - but now more than ever.
What do those three things have in common? They made a lot of sense to a white kid growing up in a small town culture void in the 1980's. The thematic transfer of postmodern ideals from high culture to pop culture to digital communication play out in ways that can only be connected by looking in the rearview mirror. So then, how can we look to perceive what is in front of us now? That's for a future episode. This is a classic FIRST episode of low production values and likely some cringeworthy moments that I can only look forward to improving the quality of over time. Gotta start somewhere... so, right here and right now!
