Billions of people worldwide look up to celebrities from all industries. We hear about high profile cases of domestic violence all the time, and we see time and time again, how these A-listers still find a way to not take domestic violence seriously despite having such large impressionable audiences. In this week's episode, we talk about how the actions of celebrities shape society's reaction to domestic violence and their impact in the long run.

Access to stable housing is domestic violence prevention. Unfortunately, finding housing in the United States is not easy for vulnerable populations. Survivors and victims of domestic violence, especially those who are people of color/belong to marginalized communities experience discrimination when looking for housing because of their background. Additionally, abusers are often deemed as "liabilities" to landlords. Homelessness due to domestic violence is very common - what does that say about the systems we have in place? In this episode, we talk about housing discrimination, its relationship to domestic violence, redlining, and more.

As COVID-19 cases continue to soar, leaders in Washington state and around the country have started to require the COVID-19 vaccination in order to partake in certain activities. What does this mean for folks who are not unvaccinated? How will the nation respond to restrictive mandates after the most influential leaders of the country have been far from transparent about COVID-19 plans? Workers in an Amazon fulfillment center in Bessmer Alabama have started an important labor movement. This event will have major implications as Amazon is the second-largest private employer in America. This unionizing effort could determine whether their employees have the power to demand decent working conditions.
