Donney Rose is a D.C. Metro area-based poet, teaching artist, essayist, and community activist from Baton Rouge. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Southern University and A&M College. He is a 2018-2019 Kennedy Center Citizen Artist Fellow. Donney’s work as a performance poet and organizer has been featured in a variety of publications, including Atlanta Black Star, Blavity, Button Poetry, BBC, Democracy Now, and The New York Times. As the Chief Content Editor for The North Star, Donney spends his days working to amplify the narratives of Black and other marginalized people whose stories often go untold or misrepresented.
