Remembering Medications โจ๐๐๐ปโโ๏ธ๐
Letโs do this! #Together ๐ป๐ฎ
Auditorial Reminders:
*shake the bottle ๐ถ๐บ๐ป
*make it make a sound before taking!
You might not remember the action, but you will more likely remember the sound!
Especially is auditorial stims are something you gravitate towards! Think sound cues to support action, recall and memory!
VISUAL CUES + CLUES:
Place it by something you do everyday and the time of day you want to take it!
- B-12, by my morning notepad + pens
- D liquid, by my at home Vaseline capstick in the bathroom cause my lips always get dry - so when I go to do that, I think โDid I take my Vitamin D today?โ
I use my other sensory cues, such as dry lips that are more noticeable to help me remember! ๐ผ๐ฅณ
Have a living relationship with your supplements / medications! Leave them out, by things you also canโt live without ๐๐๐๐ป aka paper, pen, and chapstick lol
VISUAL CLUES:
- need to take? Front Label faces you.
- Taken? Turn label away.
Counter Placements
- Left side, need to take
- Middle, second dose (if required)
- Right side, all done!
DECORATE WITH IMAGES:
COLLAGE AND PAPER BABY! ๐๐ฅณ๐
- Decorate your bottles with the purpose they provide you and your body!
- Canโt remember why you take Vitamin C, paste, tape, ModgePodge the outside with pictures and cuts of a splash of sunshine, a beach umbrella and those feel good vibes!
Magnesium? How about photos of rest - like that cozy blanket, or that soft lap dog nesting by the fire.
Images can also represent times of day! So by decorating them with other sensory clues, they can help you remember when to take them and takes the guessing game out of executive functioning! Itโs a Win-Win! ๐ป๐๐ป๐ฎ๐ผ
Alright Bodies! Thatโs it for today!
Remember to take your medications, supplements and all the lovely things that support your very YOUness in the world!
Ps Did you take your medications today? ๐
๐๐ถ Letโs take them together ๐๐บ๐ป
