Hi Creative Mind

A year ago, June 2020, I reconnected with my friend Actor, Writer, Producer and Model Thomas Ramseur-King via Zoom to converse about the climate at the time and discuss lessons in lockdown. We dove deep into why we have to heal as Individuals first before we can strive and expect to heal as a people and country. Thomas has written, acted and produced several films and is always a great resource for me when I am looking to gain other perspectives. He not only shared his own experiences with systemic racism as a black man in America, but went on to suggest actionable steps we all can take to mobilize real change.

I was fortunate I got to catch Chrissy while she was still in Cologne before heading back to Berlin and get to know more about her background and journey from Classical Dance to Voguing. Coming from an Eastern European Home, a Stoic and a more reserved mentality may not seem to be the foundation for someone to get into the Ballroom Scene. We all know the amazingly talented high achievers, dancers and athletes coming from Eastern European Countries. For Chrissy, also known as Crystal Saint Laurent from the House of Saint Laurent in Berlin, life took a different turn and she fell in love with an art form within a space not necessarily created for her, or where she came from. I met Kjirsten on IG when I first came out to New York. We have collaborated on Social Media and I have since watched her elevate and grow her Beauty Business. An amazingly inspiring Woman, a Solopreneur, Small Business Owner and Spray Tan Artist, who had to not only shut down her studio, but also pivot her entire operating structure due to the pandemic. I was so happy to get a chance to visit her in her Brooklyn Studio and learn about her start and journey throughout. This Interview was recorded in the midst of the Pandemic last year and was very eye-opening and emotional. I hope it can expand your horizon as it did mine and helped me get perspective. A very close friend of mine in Berlin introduced me to Albanian Model and Actor Arselajda some years ago. We have since worked together and supported each others endeavors when possible. This is one of the most honest interviews I had so far and I am so grateful to continue celebrating Women's Month with another amazingly compassionate and talented woman on this show.
