The Skirrid Inn is said to be the most haunted and the oldest in Wales with a history that stretches over centuries. Once a court house and a place of execution, it's little wonder that ghosts are said to walk it's corridors. At one point, the infamous Hanging Judge was said to have graced it's hallways, and hundreds are said to have died.
But is this a story based in history, or is it stranger than fiction?

The 'Prince of Wales' is a title that is commonly associated with the current royal family, with the children of English monarchs tending to inherit the title. At the time of writing, the current holder is Prince William, with him having inherited it when his father became King. But centuries it was a title that was reserved for someone who was Welsh.
In today's episode, Mags tells the story of Owain Glyndŵr, the last, ever, Welsh Prince of Wales.

In 1965, Capel Celyn - rural community to the Northwest of Bala in Gwynedd - was flooded in order to provide a water supply for Liverpool city. Despite local opposition, Liverpool council did not require Welsh approval and the proposal went ahead.
It remains a disaster that is a prominent symbol if injustice on the Welsh consciousness, and in today's episode Mags considers why.

On the 15th of February 2003, Louise and her baby daughter Tia were murdered at the hands of Louise's partner. This episode tells Louise's story and considers whether 23-years is a fair sentence.
I want to offer a word of caution before you get into the episode, because this case is horrific. It’s containing domestic abuse, drug abuse, potential SA and the murder of a woman and young baby. This episode is not appropriate for many, and if any of these topics might be triggering, I’d urge you to stop the episode now.

But the unease doesn’t end with crime. Wales is a land shaped by myth, folklore and forgotten histories — tales that blur the line between legend and reality, and continue to haunt the present.
Meticulously researched and told with care, context and deep respect, this is where Wales’ hidden stories are finally brought into the light.
