It is your legal right, in the UK, to cast your vote, for elections, in privacy and in secrecy. Unfortunately for many blind and partially sighted people, the ability to do this is not always possible, because of what many think is an outdated and not fit for purpose system. Rachael Andrews took the government to the High Court to argue that she, like many other visually impaired voters, do not have all the accessible components to successfully cast her vote without assistance from another individual, undermining her, and your, legal right. RNIB Connect radio's Allan Russell spoke to Rachael, along with Samantha Fothergill from RNIB and Ailsa Irvine from The Electoral Commission to hear more about her successful case that saw a High Court judge rule in her favour.
