April and Madison are back at their antics this week with HAUNTED PLACES! April takes you on a tour through the history of hauntings at Kenyon College in Gamblers, OH, USA. One of the school's claims to fame is that they are one of the most haunted campuses in America. If that doesn't drive up enrollment rates, I don't know what will! All jokes aside, this place is beautiful and it's too bad that April will never step foot there to see it for herself.
Madison regales us with the tales of the families that lived at Ross Castle and what ultimately lead to their downfall. These people were conniving, rude, inconsiderate, all the other bad things you can think of. They kind of had it coming, you know, with karma and all.
Next week is 90's heartthrobs, anything goes! Get ready for lots of singing!

August 12, 2021 Female Inventors: Trudy and Lillie
April and Madison have FINALLY recorded the tales of female inventors. The Herstorians extended their mental health break because, self care. Madison regales us with the story of Gertrude Belle Elion, a fucking rockstar in the world of cancer research! Trudy is hardworking, persistent, and wicked smart. She also looks like the sweetest old lady that would give the best hugs. April gabs about Lillian Evelyn Moller Gilbreth. Lillie was a record breaking, accolade winning, badass that totally earned the title "genius in the art of living", all while raising 12 children!

The future is female, there's no denying it. Womxn are leaders, capable, intelligent, strong, brave, and persistent. There's nothing we can't do when we stick together and lend a hand to one another!

HEY THERE! Obviously this episode is not about Female Inventors, as was promised. Sorry 'bout that! (but said like Hagrid when he gave Harry his smashed birthday cake in Sorcerer's Stone LOL)
The High Herstorians had quite the week and needed to take a mental health break. This episode they revisited the very first stories they researched for High Herstory before it was even named! April and Madison love Elton John and all things Queen, it seemed only fitting that those loves would be incorporated in High Herstory somehow! April leads off this week and shares some tidbits about a lesser known relationship of Elton's. Madison waxes poetically about Sharon and Melina, two of the best friends.
High Herstory will also be taking a short intermission while April and Madison travel (safely)! (GET VACCINATED, WE BEG YOU!) No new episodes will be published until August 4, 2021. We will deliver on those Female Inventor stories and make sure they're worth the wait.

This week the Herstorians discuss conspiracy theories about historical events. Madison regales us with the tale of John Wilkes Booth and how he may have been a sideshow attraction. April explains a few of the theories regarding the sinking of the R.M.S. Titanic.

Cleo the Cat and Gemma the Dog make their second appearances on the pod, they're sure to become fan favorites. Yes, April is unhealthily obsessed with her dog. If you met her - Gemma (...and April) you would understand. Cleo can be a menace and likes to test her boundaries - and only loves Madison. You can hear her bell as she slinks along. A&M think Clee’s a witch, she just won’t admit it.

July 01, 2021 National Parks: Mammoth Cave and Dry Tortugas
April and Madison searched high and low across the United States to find two national parks to talk about this week, and relocated High Herstory Headquarters before recording. April tells the story of the exploration of Mammoth Cave National Park and Stephen Bishop, its most beloved cave guide. Madison takes us through the history of Dry Tortugas National Park off the coast of the Florida Keys, this island has seen some shit.
Listening to this will cause wanderlust, April and Madison each have a wishlist of vacations now!

Join April and Madison as they explore the nitty gritty behind the glitz and glamour that was Old Hollywood! Madison takes us on a rollercoaster as she tells the story of movie producer, William Desmond Taylor. Really though, his life was crazy! April explains what it means to be a "fixer" in Old Hollywood as she highlights some of Eddie Mannix's (and MGM Studios of olde) more nefarious deeds.
Also: April did figure out how to add songs, and did include a clip of Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous. It would cause the episode to only be available on Spotify so she didn't leave it in.
