It’s been a wild year for investors both in equities and fixed income. As we approach the end of the year, what factors should investors consider as we settle into a late cycle? What factors tend to outperform during this period? On today’s show, ETF strategist Étienne Joncas-Bouchard explains how he is attracted to high-quality and low volatility. With host Kathryn Black, Director of Sales Enablement, he shares his thoughts on a fixed income. In the coming year, he says to expect GICs to be a great short-term opportunity. Moreover, it might be helpful to look at more options as GICs have yet to outperform bonds the last two years in a row. Étienne also touches on the benefits of Fidelity All-in-One portfolios. While the fees are slightly higher, those higher fees allow Fidelity’s strategy to be vastly different from competitors, involving factor-based equities and active fixed income.
