  • Episode 62 ORIGINAL KING OF COMEDY Ft. Edworld Kin
Episode 62 is now live! We got the chance to sit down with Edward Kim, a Korean comic who came to Canada to study comedy at Humber College, and make a name for himself in North America. Edward shares with us how he performed nearly 1000 sets of comedy last year (no joke), why he doesn't get casted for speaking roles in commercials, and what sort of energy any comic needs to bring to their routines, in order to succeed.

  • High Top Flip Flops Ep 61 THERAPY THE NEW AIR PODS
Damn, it's been a minute but we're back with episode 61. We had to take a break, to reflect and to heal. We decided to be transparent about why we hadn't recorded in so long, and do our part in hosting conversations surrounding (our) mental health and steadily normalizing the types of conversations that need to be had more regularly.
For those in the GTA, Planned Parenthood serves as an accessible (and free) resource for identifying and getting in touch with support services near to you that best meet your needs and preferences (down to cultural sensitivity). You can book a free consultation (over the phone or in person) with a case consultant to start this process. Visit: http://www.ppt.on.ca/services-and-programs/health-services/counselling-and-case-coordination/
If you'd prefer to do some searching on your own, here is an insanely well documented set of pdfs that outline so many of the resources available with Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area that one can access. These resources were compiled and willingly shared by Janany Jeyasundram.

More Episodes to come, more videos to come! Thanks for continuing to listen.
Available on Youtube, Soundcloud, Google Play, and the Itunes Podcast app.

  • High Top Flip Flops Ep 60: DASH THE FLIP FLOPS ft. Mathusha & Gow of Dash The Curry
On this VERY special episode, we run a cross-over podcast with our pals from Dash The Curry - a podcast that explores topics ranging from Eelam Thamil identity, culture, taboos, relationships and more from the perspective of Thamil diasporic feminists.
The idea was brought forth by both Mathusha and Gow - and was a hoot! We chat about how we got into podcasting, the idea of challenging the notion of the 'desi' and 'South Asian' umbrellas, embracing the truths behind 'chasing your dreams,' and dealing with ethical dilemmas.
This was our 60th episode! Wowee! Thanks for bangin' with us for all this time and thank you for not reporting us lol!!! Things are getting busy but we still intend to keep sharing episodes and chatting with the folks who deserve all the love!
Be sure to take a listen to Dash The Curry, and give both Mathusha and Gow a follow. Like High Top Flip Flops, their podcast is available for stream and download everywhere! Enjoy!

  • High Top Flip Flops Ep.59: DON'T TELL ME I'M A NICE GUY Ft. Moya & Joshua
Took a few weeks off but we're back on our bullshit! Ep.59 ft. Moya and Josh is now live!
Moya and Josh are a pair of our favourite mixed media artists, born and raised in Toronto. We spoke to the lads about just about everything - growing up in the city, messages conveyed in their work, understanding the complexities of commodifying their art, their understanding of Toronto's art scene, and being observant and compassionate to artists struggling with mental health.
This conversation was in-depth, but greatly fulfilling. Both Josh and Moya are extremely thoughtful and introspective artists, and their work is extremely reflective of that.
All episodes available for stream and download on the Itunes Podcast App, Google Play and Soundcloud.
    Intro: Puff Daddy - JPEGMAFIA
    Outro: Canada Goose - Pressa

  • High Top Flip Flops Ep. 58: ARE WE TALKING ART OR ARE WE TALKING ART?
On this episode Nivake and Krish host another AUA (Ask Us Anything) episode, and get caught up with whats been going on in each other's lives. The lads talk about wanting to hate people again, their favourite projects of 2018 so far, and their thoughts on cancel culture.
While we have your attention: The PC party of Ontario recently passed on a resolution to debate gender identity. The added danger, and extreme harm this adds to the lives of trans, and non-gender conforming folks is unjustified, and there's no better time to express your support and solidarity to those who are, and will continue to be oppressed as a consequence of intense homophobia and transphobia embedded in all forms of government. Here are a few ways you can play your part:
1)E-mail your MPP, particularly if they are PC. Let them know of how damaging this decision is, and how you care to see more support for trans and non binary folks
    2) Reach out to the folks in your communities who are at risk, and are most vulnerable to state violence. Share your support and consider what their needs at this time might be.
    3) If possible, consider donating to Trans organisations. A quick google search can provide you with a bounty of orgs that are fighting for the continued visibility and inclusion of trans and non binary folk in a country that has failed to provide the support and warmth that they claim to provide to those who are marginalised.
    Thanks for listening!
Intro: SMUCKERS (Instrumental) - Tyler, The Creator
Outro: John Doe - Young Fathers
