Simon was instructed to cast his net into deep water, and gave an excuse not to, yet the result was catching more fish. In life, when we are called to cast a net to fish for men, are we making the excuse that we already went there, or are we giving the effort in obedience? A Christian life isn't easy, but God is faithful to provide results.

The prophet Jeremiah laments about the hardships that he is going through, and has fallen into a state of hopelessness. But that state was temporary after remembering God's promises. We may complain about our circumstances, but the truth is, He cares. This past year may have been hard, but as Christians, we will suffer hardships for His sake. 2023 might even be worse for some, but don't forget the promises that God has made.

Merry Christmas everyone, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill to men! We will be looking at Isaiah 9 today. Today, we are celebrating the fulfillment of prophecy that changed the world for all of mankind. Even though this world is getting worse and worse, the promise that was fulfilled through Jesus gives us peace and hope that we will be restored with the Father in Heaven. Having spiritual armor doesn't mean we won't be attacked, but it does us no good if we don't put on all the pieces. If we walk out with just the sword, we leave our heart and head exposed. Our enemy is not the people of this world, but Satan who is manipulating them and doing everything he can to trip us up from the mission. So when you go out into the world, are you equipped to deal with him?

Have you ever wished that life came with instructions just like that furniture you bought from IKEA? Well it actually does, and if you don't read the instructions, life naturally becomes difficult, and can fall apart like that new coffee table. God provides us instructions on our relationship with our children, with our spouse, and even in the workplace. These instructions provide structure to our lives that shape the future of the Church.

A lot of our actions are usually done out of selfish reasons whether it be for personal gain, welfare, or pride. Paul's letter to the Galatians calls us to first examine ourselves so that we would have reason to boast. Are your actions benefiting the kingdom, or are they only benefiting yourself?
