There’s a lot going on in this world that points to the end times, and a lot of people are still stumbling through the dark. But rather than hide within the safety of the church and pretend that things aren’t getting worse, we need to stay sober and alert, ready to defend our faith. There are still people out there in need of Christ, and we need to be ready to share the Gospel while pushing back against the darkness of this world.

The Pharisees had a human approach about the Sabbath regarding what was and wasn't considered rest. Jesus' followers also had a human idea on wealth and prosperity and the best way to live. But our idea on how to live involves trusting ourselves to make the best decisions so that we can have comfort. Jesus flipped the script and gave a blessing and a warning on how to go about life. Do you trust Him?

As Jesus was comforting His disciples due to what He was about to accomplish, He explains how Oneness with the Father works. We can’t get to the Father who is in Heaven without Jesus, and if we know Jesus, we know the Father. Jesus’ work was completed, but our work is still going on, and He’s called us to do greater works than even Jesus Himself did.

This should be a wake up call for the  few remaining faithful Christians not to run around and panic over signs and conspiracy theories, but to focus on what God has commanded us to do, which is share the Gospel message to seek and save the lost before it’s too late.

This means that in the process, we will have to take on the struggles of others, and it can get uncomfortable. This doesn’t mean that we can’t do some of the things we enjoy, but if we are putting our own comfort and satisfaction before the mission, or before helping our neighbor, then there will be no reward in Heaven. What’s holding you back from pleasing your neighbor for their good?

The seeds sown by the road don’t develop at all and get eaten up. The seeds sown in rocky soil start off strong, but without deep roots can’t stand up to the pressures of the world and fall away. The seeds sown among the thorns ended up struggling through life. Where are you rooted, and where are you sowing your seeds?
