Greetings, and may grace, mercy, and peace be multiplied to you. We will be in Luke 2 today. When you see nativity scenes, what comes to mind? Oftentimes we picture a pretty looking stable, hay everywhere, and a “manger” that looks like a comfortable cradle. In reality, there was probably animal feces all over the place, the smell was probably horrendous, and there were probably bits of animal feed still in that manger (which is basically a feeding trough). He was born into muck, our muck. He lived a rough life, and died a horrible death. In the end, He was glorified when he came back to life, and He did all this so that we could receive salvation. This Christmas, when you look at a nativity scene, remember what it was that He went through so that we could be here today.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28 19-20
