Tonight we have some great stories for you! First, Laurel takes us to Hawaii before it was an American state and we get to meet the amazing Queen Lili'uokalani, Hawaii's last sovereign monarch.  From there, we don't have to travel much in time but, instead, a couple of oceans away to the empire of France under the rule of Napoleon Bonaparte.  Poor Napoleon gets himself into a bit of a fuzzy dilemma and is attacked by hundreds of bunnies!

This week's episode covers a wide span of history starting with Laurel's story of more recent times about the Feather Heist of a scientifically and historically priceless collection of rare birds from the British Natural History Museum.  It is WILD so buckle in for the ride.  I mean, did you know there is basically a fly fishing underground?! What?

After our great heist adventure, KT takes us further back in the history books and tells us about the great Frederick Douglass, who inspired Black History Month.  We also get to meet the amazing women in his life that helped him achieve all the great things he accomplished.

We're Laurel and Katie, two sisters who love talking history and we are the hosts of a new podcast called Hightailing Through History! 

Each week, we will surprise each other with a story from history's vault of weird and wonderful people, places and events.  We'll also be throwing in some of those familiar favorites too because they are still fun to talk about.  

And since we aren't doing really deep dives, you'll get two stories each week.  We're hightailing through history but we are also telling our tales...high.  Laurel's choice is cannabis and Katie likes to booze it up but you don't have to enjoy those things to enjoy our podcast!
