'Holiness' is a word not often used in our culture today. But it is a word often used in Scripture, both as a description and as an objective. So what is it? A certain way of dressing? Abstaining from saying or doing certain things? Giving a certain amount away? While it can affect all of these areas, holiness is about our fundamental disposition: "separated or set apart for God, consecrated and made over to Him." That's a tall order. In the middle of writing to the Thessalonians, Paul switches from discourse to them to praying for them. At first glance, this may seem simply encouraging or give us insight into their situation. As we've gone through this series, the theme of suffering being part of the plan has come out again and again.
