Importance of Prayer

This morning, Brother Eric Capaci is with us in Revival. In this first message, we are in Acts, chapter 8, looking at 5 things that are a part of every conversion story!

Brother Philip Rabon, Associate & Student Pastor at Beacon Baptist Church is with us this evening to present a very real and relevant cultural topic to us--Media. We're using that term in a very broad sense to encompass the various aspects that play into today's world of multimedia. The statistics are a clear revelation of the addictive nature of our new gadgets, and this is especially true of our young people. We are not promoting the total abstinence of technology, but we must understand and apply biblical principles to govern and protect our families. We trust that this evening's message will challenge the Christian to take inventory of his own personal life, as well as help him to gauge the consumption of media within his household. Bro. Philip gives us just a few tips and practices that can be put in place to help us carry out our plan of attack in the battlefield of Media.

This morning, we turn to the book of Acts, Chapter 8, to the times of the diaspora, the scattering of the believers in Christ, to the particular record of Philip's traveling into the city of Samaria preaching the Gospel. This is the second of three great revivals recorded in the book of Acts. Here, we want to note just three key elements of Revival.

Becoming A Missions-Minded Christian

This Sunday we celebrate Homecoming for our 48th year! We have a very special service prepared, with our guest preacher, Stuart Harmon, a long time member of the church and graduate of Hilltop Christian School. Another Hilltop member and graduate, Joel Galloway is with us as well with special music from his trio, Justified.  With a large smile, and a swell of godly pride, we are thankful above all to the Lord Jesus Christ for the opportunity to worship Him over these many years and among so many loved ones.

This evening, Brother David & Annette Aycock, missionaries to Barbacena, Minas Gerais, Brazil, are in our service to present an update presentation on the work that is going on in their church, Esperança (Hope FWB). Brother David then closes with a message on the motivation for service to the Lord. We are very thankful for the opportunity we have to support these missionaries, and to share in the fruits of their labors. Be prayerful for them as they prepare to return to Brazil and continue to take the Gospel of Christ into these uttermost parts of the world.

This morning's message concludes our series "Answering Life's Hard Questions". We are addressing one of today's most controversial subjects--homosexuality. What does the Bible say concerning same-sex relationships. Is tolerance our call, or is intolerance acceptable? How is the Christian supposed to respond, Biblically, to a professing homosexual. Ultimately, does God love the homosexual? or does He despise him?
