Welcome to the unexpected, but definitely understandable, bite-sized finale to HinaCast. After a long hiatus: One half of our hosting cotierie, Geoff (sans Pip) is here to wrap-up our journey into the Hina Hellmouth at Episode Three of the Series. As well as utterly fail to count to Nine. What have we learned? Did the "Horror of Hina" truly peak at episode two? These and many other questions, may remain unanswered. But we want to thank you for being part of this brief, upsetting, but deliciously satisfying discussion. Like a trifle made of salt.
Thanks again. Until Next Time...Congratulations...
Our hosts, Pip and Geoff continue to steady their blades to enact the final cross-counter on Love Hina's third episode. Pip flexes multiple child-based vocal impressions while Geoff consistently continues his upsettingly convincing creepy Keitaro voice. Our hosts then enact some mad bushido on: Traditional gender roles, samurai action economy, volcel energy, and roving gangs of uncles. Exposit at the nearest hot springs, bookmark the WebMD definition of "Love Sickness," and grab your nearest attack umbrella. It's Love Hina.
Welcome to episode three of Love Hina, finally! Pip and Geoff begin a two episode examination of the newly-arrived fetishistic fixation: The stoic, samurai girl Matoko. Our hosts place their getas firmly onto the warrior's path and hone their souls against: The lost "Hatsune Miku Scene" from American Psycho, tornado blowjobs, the persistent spectre of Shinobu, and anime boys in female-only spaces. Pour one out for the pair from Di Gi Charat: For our now-former self-insert characters are, as of episode three, thoroughly cancelled.
(Content Warning: We talk about some serious subjects such as child abuse, grooming and manipulation which may be potentially triggering to some listeners.) Pip and Geoff steel themselves for the insane and action-packed conclusion of the "Shinobu Saga" and sink deeper and deeper into the "Hina-Pit." What began with a "sketchbook full of sad horny drawings and one picture of a little girl" begins unfurling a horror-narrative involving: Parental dehydration, cult-indoctrination, and child-abduction. Midsommar? No, it's love Hina.
(Content Warning: We talk about some serious subjects such as child abuse, grooming and manipulation which may be potentially triggering to some listeners.) Pip and Geoff continue the arduous task of drilling down into the depths of what is becoming "The Shinobu Saga." They do their best at sorting through the wreckage left over from the massive thematic explosion that is episode two of Love Hina. They crack open the "sketchbook full of sad horny drawings and one picture of a little girl" to witness all of the plausible deniability of a harem comedy burn away leaving only a Keitaro-Based Dystopia that twists around our pathetic male lead.
(Content Warning: We talk about some serious subjects such as child abuse, grooming and manipulation which may be potentially triggering to some listeners.) In this unexpectedly three-part examination of Love Hina's second episode: Pip and Geoff are introduced to our newest female lead. The 13-year-old, constantly weeping, endlessly bullied (?) and painfully moe cast member: Shinobu. Is Love Hina's world of panicky-penis-pulls, robot equestrians, and cartoon violence the perfect backdrop to tell a meaningful narrative about a young girl in crisis at the crossroads of womanhood? Spoilers: No, it isn't. But, just 'how' badly do they mess this up? Let us find out.
Pip and Geoff reach the finale of the Love Hina's first episode and its excessively-long, semi-nude chase sequence. Can they unlock the dark secret of Keitaro's amazingly seamless ability to violate every single personal boundary in an entire township? Is it mind-control? A Stand-Ability? Or something even more insidious: The Friendzone.
Now that the personal introductions are out of the way our intrepid cohosts Pip and Geoff begin a two episode odyssey into Love Hina's first episode. They explore the inner workings of Love Hina's male lead Keitaro, which will (unfortunately) lay the philosophical groundwork for the rest of the series and the ripples that occur beyond it.
Welcome to what is arguably, the most preeminent (and possibly only) podcast deep-dive into the anime series Love Hina of 2021: HinaCast! Our cohosts Pip and Geoff have been compelled to return to the 21 year old harem comedy/multimedia-media mega franchise. What has it done to us? What will it teach us? Can we Stop it? Will it Destroy us? Is it already too late? We will find out.
