For episode three we have none other than Mark V. Campbell. Campbell has been a pioneering voice in the effort to document Canadian hip-hop. In addition to founding the North Side Hip-Hop Archive, Campbell has numerous publications under his belt. To date he has published the book "Everything Remains Raw: Photographing Toronto's Hip-Hop Culture from Analog to Digital," countless journal articles, as well as recently an edited collection on Canadian hip-hop with Charity Marsh titled "We Still Here: Hip-Hop North of the 49th Parallel." In this episode we discuss Everything Remains Raw, and the idea of archiving Canadian hip-hop. 

For this episode I sit down with Kathy Iandoli. Kathy is a hip-hop journalist and author, with writing credits ranging from Vibe, HipHopDX, The Grammys, Rolling Stone, etc. In addition to journalistic work, Kathy recently published a new book entitled "God Save The Queens: The Essential History of Women in Hip-Hop." We discuss this work, as well as her upcoming book "Baby Girl: Better Known as Aaliyah." which comes out 2021. 

In this episode I speak to Dr. Anthony Kwame Harrison. As a professor at Virginia Tech, Kwame has spent his career researching and writing on the Bay Area hip-hop scene, as well as ethnography and Africana studies more broadly. We discuss his 2009 publication Hip Hop Underground: The Integrity and Ethics of Racial Identification, as well as his article 'Cheaper than a CD, Plus We Really Mean It': Bay Area Underground Hip Hop Tapes as Subcultural Artefacts.
