The Celtics historical comeback falls short as they lose Game 7 103-84. This was truly a horrible showing from start to finish. The very first possession for the Celtics resulted in Tatum rolling an ankle and he was left grimacing all game long. With Tatum going down, all fans turn to JB and expect him to pick up the slack and then he comes out with an 8 turnover game on an extremely inefficient shooting night. The only Celtics player that showed up and played with heart was Derrick White and even he got hurt and missed the majority of the 4th quarter. The 3pt shot was the reason that we won 57 games this year and was a huge part of our identity but we came out here and laid an egg in this one. The Celtics started this game 0-10 from 3 and only ended the game shooting 9-42 (21%) from 3. Honestly, I liked most of the attempts that they had but nothing was falling.
Brogdon, our 6th Man of the Year, was just coming off of an injury and only played in 7 minutes tonight but managed to do the impossible and was a -15 in those 7 minutes. Smart, who was exceptional through most of this series, was a nonfactor in this one. Horford didn't do much. Grant was a nonfactor. Timelord actually played really well in his minutes but his minutes were limited. That is the only major critique I have from Joe in this game. We should have seen more minutes from Timelord but outside of that, there's not much you can do about this from a rotation standpoint. Give credit to Miami for battling through this and winning a game that nobody expected them to win after nearly blowing a 3-0 series lead.
