Hit different

means something feels unusually strong, special, or meaningful — different from the usual.  It affects you in a deeper way than expected.

Examples:

1- She watched a movie without subtitles, and halfway through, she realized she was understanding everything. That moment hit different — like quiet proof that she was growing.

2- Someone told her, “You deserve good things.” She had heard that sentence many times before. But on that particular night,
 it hit different because she was finally ready to believe it.
