Why can't we have a good fun simple logical Star Wars story? Why can't we have nice things? They did not like it; some parts were fun, but another swing and a miss, which is impressive when you are swinging a lightsaber the size of the House of Mouse.

Jesse and Michael actually saw a movie they liked! It is not all doom and gloom with these two. They went and saw Jordfilmele's new movie NOPE. This movie, an adventure in horror, and sci-fi, kept them on the edge of their seats. The boys loved it to no end.
This episode was supposed to go up on July 30th, but I got a nasty case of food poisoning and could not get to the computer to post this until today, Aug 8th. Sorry for the delay. In addition, Jesse's mic thought it would be funny to make him sound like an alien, so some of his talking is off, apparently; this episode is a little cursed.

Jesse and Michael seem to be on a real negative streak with last week's extra-long Stranger Things 4 episode and now with a not-so-happy review of Thor: Love and Thunder. The short version of it, they did not like it. Why, well, many reasons, so many that they felt like a few points had to be brought up below; Spoiler Warning. Which makes it that much more disappointing after the beautiful movie that is Thor: Ragnarök.

Spoilers!!!!! Having an ice cream shop named after the Infinity Gauntlet is like calling a restaurant after a natural disaster or genocide; Why were there other alien kids with the Asgardian kids? Do they live in New Asgard? Did Gorr take them for other gods? Are the space refugees?; Stormbreaker either knows it is the key, so it stops thor from going but lets them use it with a boat, or it's preventing Thor from stopping Gorr from killing all the Gods because it's jealous, either way, it is dumb!
Following the prelude episode about Stranger Things 1-3, Jesse and Michael talk over their thoughts on the long-anticipated Stranger Things 4. They talk about the good, the bad, and everything in between, and this show has a lot of in-between.
Sorry for the delay in release; I guess we did not hit publish?

In preparation to talk about the long-awaited Stranger Things 4, Jesse and Michael thought I would help to talk about the first 3 seasons. Knowing the boys if they didn't share their thoughts here first the Stranger Things 4 episode would be two, two-hour episodes. Follow them into the upsidedown. See what they think about a show that seems to spin further away from its origins.

With the state of the "good" old US of A, Michael and Jesse thought they would like to remember a more straightforward kind of movie. One with practical exploding white houses and extraterrestrial. This week they reminisce about the 1996 hit Independence Day, what it meant to them at the time and what it means now.

Michael is joined by Patrick this week, while Jesse is taking care of some stuff. So Patrick and Michael decide to talk over an old topic they discussed many a time when they lived together, movie remakes. Michael takes a more cynical take on this topic taking some classic movies that Corporate Hollywood will remake to make money, and Patrick takes a much more promising approach with films that should get a second try.

This week the boys are talking about arguably one of the most influential contributors to movie-making history, Ray Harryhausen. Michael explains why we wouldn't have the cinematic landscape we have today without this man and his over 13 movies. Learn how to spot Ray's passion and care in each of his characters, monsters, and visuals.

Finally, Jesse convinces Michael that they should finally talk about one of the game series and franchises that defined how storytelling in video games can be elevated. They are talking about Mass Effect, from the Developer: BioWare. Little over a decade, the first game was released and captivated audiences. With each addition to the franchise being hotly anticipated. The boys talk over favored memories, disappointment, and hopes.
