Hold My Banner

Welcome to another exciting episode of Hold My Banner! This week, we’ve got a jam-packed show covering the latest in the NBA.

We start with Joe Mazzulla’s thought-provoking quote about defending titles. Mazzulla suggests that the strongest animals in the wild aren’t defensive—they’re aggressive and on the attack. What does this mean for teams aiming to defend their championships? We dive into his perspective and its implications for the NBA.

Next, we discuss DeMar DeRozan’s recent revelation that the 76ers, Lakers, Clippers, and Heat were all “legitimate options” for him in free agency before he chose the Kings. Was Sacramento the right choice for DeRozan given his list of potential suitors? We explore the pros and cons of his decision.

Our NBA Preview series continues as we take an in-depth look at the Houston Rockets. We analyze their off-season moves, discuss their realistic outcomes for the season, and debate whether Ime Udoka could win Coach of the Year. Are the Rockets a playoff team? How much court time can we expect for rookie Reed Shepard? Plus, we share our favorite bets for the team.

In Wicked Or Kick It, we’re bringing you the latest from New York Fashion Week, where NBA stars like Jayson Tatum, Jordan Clarkson, and Jarred Vanderbilt made some bold fashion statements. We rate their outfits—if it’s a winner, it’s wicked; if not, kick it. Tune in to see which players’ styles make the cut!

Lastly, we discuss the buzz around Robert Williams and which contender could benefit the most from his services. What’s his best fit in the current NBA landscape? Catch 'Hold My Banner' every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday on NESN's Youtube, Twitch, Facebook, and wherever you listen to podcasts.
