In this episode, I'm discussing 2 cancer studies and changes coming to school lunches.  

A new study published in the Lancet shows how chemotherapy can be more deadly than the cancer it's supposed to treat.  The study, titled "30 Day After Systemic Anticancer Treatment For Breast and Lung Cancer In England..." examines the mortality rates of people with breast and lung cancer who got chemotherapy vs people using palliative care.  I discuss the findings and interpretations.

Another cancer study from the NutriNet-Santé Study in France examins the relationship between consumption of sugary beverages and cancer rates.

Finally, I discuss a school district in California's Sausalito Marin City District where they will begin serving school lunches sourced from sustainably grown, organic, Non-GMO food sources.

Erik discusses a new study published by the BMJ which finds that most new pharmaceutical drugs don't actually work.  The study examined new drugs being released in Europe and finds a very high failure rate in efficacy. 

The next topic is about an article that was released by the Daily Beast about Farmer's Markets being hotbeds for far right extremists.  Just think about that for a second...

The last topic discussed is about the a report published by ConsumerProtect profiling the most obese states in the US.  Funny thing is that the least obese states are states that have legalized marijuana.
