In this episode, host Holly Cotton and actor Brooklyn McLinn talk all things Brooklyn. Not only has Brooklyn been an actor for over 20 years, he is also a heart transplant survivor. Brooklyn discusses how he found his way into acting and some of his notorious roles. He then goes into how he was unaware of his heart health issues that would result in needing a heart transplant to survive.
Brooklyn tells us how he was diagnosed with heart failure, his treatments and now life living and thriving as a heart transplant recipient. Brooklyn has also started a nonprofit to give back. He uses this organization to provide free testing and education as well as helping youth to start off on a healthy path in life.
Brooklyn McLinn can be seen in Peacock’s Bel-Air, Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger, ABS’s Black-ish, NBC’s Parenthood, CBS’s NCIS and CSI: NY, Showtime’s Shameless, Tyler Perry’s The Have and Have Nots and more!
Brooklyn has dedicated over two decades of his life to inspiring people through film and television. Now he has turned his focus to helping others take charge of their physical and mental wellbeing by launching WTHW Wellness Organization. His own health journey is the driving force behind the enterprise. His organization is hosting its first 5K walk to raise awareness about the importance of preventing diseases, checking blood pressures, glucose levels and health screenings.
