What if you were just told you had a terminal illness that would totally take away your ability to walk, talk, and function on your own? Would you continue to walk that journey with a smile on your face?
That's what Chris Douglas did, husband to our guest today on Holly's Highlights, Peggy Douglas. That smile on his face was contagious and helped his family walk firmly in their faith as they journeyed the path of ALS together.
Check out what Peggy shares with us brought them hope and a lifting of their face through one of their toughest challenges in life, and how she felt equipped for the task at hand.

Shout out to all entrepreneurs as we celebrate national entrepreneur week. According to the US Census Bureau 5 million new businesses were registered in 2022 (most of those being in the retail or food industry). There are many reasons for an entrepreneur to start their own business (i.e. want to be their own boss, they aren't ready to retire, or they just want to pursue a passion), but often the thought of becoming an entrepreneur leaves one filled with many questions.
Today we are going to take an inside look at an entrepreneur's mindset. Take aways will include:
- hearing a journey of an accomplished entrepreneur
- defining success
- what constitutes a great mission statement
- how to find the right business mentor
- the effectiveness of personality assessments
- the significance of one's story as a leader
- core values of living loved
- summing up our life experiences
- and more!

Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching which often means that we are looking for ways to show a little extra love to those we care about. We often focus on showing that love to our family, friends, coworkers and even through valentines we get for our kiddos to give to their teachers. Regardless of if we are single, married, or in a relationship - we can often overlook showing a little love to ourselves.
So, today on Holly's Highlights podcast we are going to explore a little more about this thing called self-love as it truly is a concept - a life long process.
We have makeup artist to the celebrities and special guest, Jayna Marie, with us today to help navigate how to self love. In this episode on Holly's Highlights podcast you'll take away learning the following:
- Why loving ourselves so important.
- How we can look past our imperfections and see what makes us - us.
- How to embrace our unique story.
- How to overcome our struggle with body issues.
- How do cope when others don’t like “us."
- Why it is so important to love ourselves now, as we are.
- How to fully love ourselves even while a work in progress.

So, as we get ready for this season of love, may we be reminded of Psalm 139:14 “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made” - and as result - show ourselves a little more self love as we strive to truly live loved. Happy Valentine’s Day!

A New Year can often bring with it many changes. Changes in our goals as we seek to adopt New Year's resolutions. Changes in the weather (man has the snow piled up here in Utah!). Perhaps changes in jobs, homes, or even seasons of life. During this time it may be quite normal to want to resist the change, or feel overwhelmed by it, but when we get right down to it we may just be experiencing a little bit of what is referred to as change fatigue. Although change fatigue is often applied to the ongoing changes within an organization, it definitely applies to our personal life too.
In today's episode on Holly's Highlights podcast we'll take a deeper look into the self reflection that change can bring as we provided resources to the questions of "Who am I?", "What's my value/purpose?" and "What's next?"
You'll walk away with a better understanding of the following resources and tools to help you fight change fatigue:
As Steve Jobs has said, “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.” You my friend, are as David writes in Palms 139:14, "fearfully and wonderfully made." Yes, you my friend have value, and in the midst of a lifetime full of change, YOU have purpose!
