Halloween might seem like the spookiest time of the year but Charles Dickens, M. R. James, Edith Wharton, and other literary greats felt otherwise. They were among the many authors who set their most terrifying stories during the dark and chilly days of Christmastime. Reading a ghost story on Christmas Eve was once as much a part of traditional holiday festivities as turkey, eggnog, mistletoe, and Saint Nick.

On this episode we share a submitted holiday ghost tale from one of our listeners as we dive into the lost tradition of sharing ghost tales during Christmas accompanied with a few California Christmas ghost tales.

There’s a house that sits on Cielo Drive in Benedict Canyon that has an array of paranormal activity. It’s best known as The David Oman House and its located just 200 ft from where the Sharon Tate and Manson Murders took place in 1969.

In 2014 David Oman produced and co-wrote a movie documentary about the paranormal activity that has been going on in his house. It’s called The House at The End of the Drive. Since producing this film, Oman feels that the spirits have really reached out to him. One of those spirits is the ghost of Sharon Tate.

On today’s episode, Hollyweird Paranormal traveled to the Benedict Canyon to tour The Oman House and interview David Oman himself.  Tune in to find out what we experienced before and during our recording session with David.  You don’t want to miss it!

Reportedly, yes. The film was based (loosely) on the events experienced by a 1953 New York family, the Hermanns and their little boy, James.

But the film’s story centers around a little girl, and a  poltergeist who terrorizes  her and her whole family.

it seems that Superstitious legend holds that a number of strange deaths are connected to a ‘curse’ on the ‘Poltergeist’ film series.

In 1886 an eccentric woman named Sarah Winchester travelled from New Haven, Connecticut to San Jose , California, to start a new life. She purchased a small eight-room farmhouse and started a small renovation project that would take 36 years and $5.5 million, only stopping when she passed away in 1922.

Legend has it that she was led by spirits  to California to build a home that would appease the spirits of the victims who were killed by the Winchester Rifle.  The only catch, if she continued building, she would live. Stop and she would die.

What clues reside within the home’s walls and windows, Was Sarah Winchester controlled by the spirits of dead to build such a palatial home?  And do those spirits haunt the Winchester mystery house?
