M3 major steps to learning how to bend conduit
If you follow these 3 steps in the order that I explain them. You will learn how to bend the correct way and by the time you start to actually bend conduit and using all 3 types of benders you will already have an understanding of the major parts of bending conduit. By learning the 3 major steps first before you start bending you can dedicate all your time to learning techniques and more advanced tips and tricks to conduit bending. You don't need to waste your time trying to figure out how to measure correctly or how to layout runs or what the multipliers or deductions are. You can just keep building onto your skills. Once you start to use the benders make sure to keep a little pad on you all the time. Especially when using the electric bender or hydraulic bender. You can keep notes to anything you feel you need to remember. You can write notes down to anything you want to write in your pad. They are your notes and you are writing anything down that you want.

In this podcast listen as I talk about some of the bad habits we as apprentices may carry on for the rest of our careers if we don't catch ourselves now and stop. I'm talking about those habits we tend to do when first starting to bend conduit. There will be plenty of more episodes to this series of podcast, I'm almost sure of it. In this Podcast i will direct you in the process of measuring, calculating, laying out and bending a 4 point saddle step by step w/ me as your Journeyman. Just as if i was right there coaching you. Its kind of like On The Job Training. Anyhow just so you know I do not get into the multipliers or what the shrink constants are for certain degree of bends. If you do not know these values i suggest you find them before you play this podcast because i do not go into it extensively at all. Thats something you should already know if you are attempting to bend a 4 point saddle.
