Sometimes, we put too much emphasis on what we prefer in the church. Church membership from a biblical perspective is about putting others first. We’re called to have servant hearts. Our motivation is sharing God’s love with all people. Our third message in the series, “I am a Church Member” looks at the statement: I Will Not Let My Church Be about My Preferences and Desires.

People working together is better than people fighting each other. It’s true in every aspect of our lives, and especially in the church. Unity Matters. We hear at how our love for one another shows others of God’s love for us in week two of our series “I am a Church Member.”

John writes in his Gospel “we have seen His glory,” then he shows us how we can see Jesus more clearly now nearly 2000 years later than if He was standing before us in the flesh. May you see Jesus with eyes of faith, and be reminded of the great love He has for you and the salvation He brings to you. Merry Christmas!

What’s your response when you’re given a gift? Most times our response varies based on the gift we’re given. If it’s something we need, our response may be muted. If it’s something we want, we can be filled with excitement. Soli Deo Gloria is a Latin phrase which means we Live to God’s Glory Alone. Because of all that God has done for us, we don’t live for ourselves, but for Him. In response to the salvation we’ve been given, we live to bring glory to God.
