Happy Wednesday! Today we are joined by Brandi K. Harris to talk about healthy and holy sexuality! We are super excited about this episode and hope you enjoy it!
Brandi is a professional counselor, author, speaker, teacher, and coach. Personally she's a mom of 3 kids, a wife, a friend, and a follower of Jesus. She has been practicing counseling for 15 years and published her first book in 2015, kicking off a round of parenting classes and teaching gigs. Before that she coached swimming and taught human development for a local university. She's also done a few random things like playing roller derby and shaving her head. She no longer has a belly button and she's just a fun human who makes mistakes and then tries to recover.
Her three books are Grace for Parents (a parenting memoir of short stories and quips she's learned as a very human parent), Love Well (a collection of short story memoirs illustrating her developing relationship with God), and The Truth About Holy Sex (a workbook for people who love Jesus and want to love sex).

In this episode with Lauren Barnes from @SexEdFor_You, we talk about consent, pleasure, and purity culture. We know— that’s a lot ahahaha- but while they are so complex, they are sooo intertwined and need to be discussed!
As a professional sexuality educator with 20+ years of public speaking experience, Lauren makes comprehensive sexuality education fun and accessible. Specializing in helping individuals overcome sex-negative beliefs based in religiousity, Lauren believes all humans deserve pleasurable and safe sexual experiences, free of coercion, discrimination and violence.
We go in depth about what consent is, how we can practice consent, and what it means in relationships. We also talk about how purity culture has affected our views of consent and our comfort in advocating for our pleasure.
