This morning James spoke from Luke 8:19-21

Summary: Jesus redefines family by saying that anyone who hears the word of God and puts it into practice is part of the family of believers and as Jesus prioritised his family so should we by loving one another which shows the world that we are Jesus' disciples.

After looking at how Jesus treated his family we prayed for our brothers and sisters in Christ in Nigeria following the massacre on Pentecost Sunday (5th June) where 'At least 50 Christians, including children, have been killed and dozens injured in an attack on a church in south west Nigeria' https://www.opendoorsuk.org/news/latest-news/nigeria-attack-south/.

Prayer points: let’s stop and listen; so much to do and to pray for but let God speak to you today about the good works He created you to do today.

This morning Emma spoke on Luke 8:4-15 and were encouraged by the word to faithfully continue to scatter the seeds of Gods word in all areas.

Afterwards Emma led a time of prayer:

• Thanking God that He can change the terrain of peoples hearts.

• Praying for people we know to receive the word of Jesus.

This morning Carolyn spoke from Luke 8:1-3 on how Jesus shares the good news of the Kingdom of God while many follow Jesus and support Him, including women.

Afterwards Carolyn led a time of prayer:

• That we would share the good news of the kingdom of God!

• For unity of the body of Christ in the advancement of His kingdom.

• Peace and revival in Russia and Ukraine.

This morning Robert spoke from Luke 7:36-50 on the sinful woman who anointed Jesus and the parable Jesus told of the money lender who forgave the debts of his debtors.

Afterwards Robert led a time of prayer in response to the passage:

• Thanking God that through Jesus we have the offer of forgiveness no matter who we are or how we've sinned

• Praying that we would recognise our need for forgiveness like the sinful woman and not think we are righteous like Simon the Pharisee

• We also prayed for the Breakfast Club and Alpha

This morning Jago spoke on Luke 7:24-35

Afterwards Jago led a time of prayer

• Thanking God that however we're feeling, whether fearful or tongue-tied, that we are even greater than John the Baptist

• Praying that we might be those that can point people to Jesus today and this week

• Thanking God for how He had been at work on Jubilee Sunday

• Praying for the faith of the Queen

• Praying for an individual in the church who is in hospital struggling with a serious illness

This morning Jamie spoke on Luke 6:46-49 looking at what it means to not simply look at God’s word but to act on it.

Afterwards Jamie led a time of prayer, praying:

• For areas where we need to act on God’s word, and make him Lord over all aspects of our lives

• That God would enable us to will and to act according to his good purpose

• That we would be a church that is rooted and established in his word

This morning Alan spoke on Luke 6:39-45

Afterwards James Farley led a time of prayer, praying:

• For the Church and that we would recognise the power and significance of the Church and that we would all play our part in that

• That we would not looking for the speck of dust in other people's eyes but first taking the log out of our own eye.
