This sermon is part 3 of a 4 part series entitled Salvation Through a life in Christ. In this sermon Fr. Micah shares with us examples of love. Love is active or it is not love at all. We as Orthodox Christians are to follow Jesus' command to love each other "even as I have loved you".

This sermon is Part 2 of a 4 part series entitled Salvation Through a Life in Christ. In this sermon entitled What is the Orthodox Faith? Father Micah shares with us that the Faith of the Orthodox although 2,000 years old is actually not so old. Jesus Christ is alive and well today and He can be experienced through the Church. Faith is more than a belief in something or someone. Faith must be deeper than this, it is trusting and this requires a relationship. The world over Orthodox Christians are united through the Body and Blood of Jesus, and in the Liturgical aspects of the Church.

In today's sermon Father Paul shares with us wisdom from St. John of Kronsdadt on the meaning and purpose of the Church. This is part one of a four part series entitled "Salvation through a Life in Christ". The church has a two fold meaning, place of worship and gathering of God's people. Father Paul explains why the church exists today.

Life can be described as a journey. Orthodox Christians are on a Journey to the Promised Land, God's Kingdom where Jesus reigns. On our journey we are led by Jesus but we must desire His Kingdom in order for it to be obtained. Father Paul shares with us steps to be taken to begin and continue on our life of faith.

The message of the Cross foolishness to some and life changing to others. The Major Feast Day of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross commemorates two events. One Biblical event is the Crucifixion of Jesus and the other is historical the finding of the Holy Cross by Saints Helen and Constantine. The Crucifixion of Jesus is the fulfillment of a promise given to us in John 3:16.

The cross once a symbol of death has been transformed into one of hope and love. In this sermon Father Micah shares with us the Old Testament intimations from Exodus about the Cross and it's power. The listener also hears the " what, why and application" of the Cross in our lives.

Each of us takes for granted the miracle of life. We can lose the amazing universe God has created. The same holds true in our reading of the Bible. In today's sermon Father Micah encourages us to read this " Love Letter" from God and recapture the wonder and awe it holds.

Each of us has felt wronged and or injured by others. On this the 11th Sunday of Matthew the Gospel lesson is the parable of the Unmerciful Servant who had been forgiven much but was unwilling to forgive another servant who owed very little. Father Paul reminds us of Christ's teaching on forgiveness and how we will be forgiven the same measure we forgive others. He shares practical advice on how we can by God's Grace learn to forgive those who have hurt us.

On August 15th the Orthodox Church celebrates a Major Feast Day known as The Dormition of the Theotokos. There are three events remembered on this day, her death, resurrection and translation into glorification in Christ's Kingdom. Father Paul reminds us that the Theotokos is our example on leading a pure life hearing and doing God's Word.
