  • Your Phone Is Stealing Your Family (Here's the Fix)
Your phone might be the biggest discipleship battle in your home - and you don't even realize it. In this episode of Discipleship for Dads, Kevin Swanson, Todd Strawser, and Danny Craig put their phones down long enough to ask the hard question: what is that little screen actually doing to your walk with God and your relationship with your family? They dig into the heart behind the habit - diversion, escapism, the "tyranny of the urgent," FOMO, and the love of pleasure over the love of God - and open the Word to find real answers (1 & 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, Psalm 1, Galatians 5). What you'll hear: • Why "providential proximity" should change how you use your phone • Redeeming the wasted "cracks" of your day with Scripture and prayer • Practical guardrails - leave it in the car, leave it in the office • When (and how) to give your kids a phone • Building a family culture worth putting the phone down for Whoever has no rule over his own spirit is like a city broken down, without walls (Proverbs 25:28). Let's build the walls back up. Got a topic you want us to cover? • What Have They Seen In Thy House?
The sermon challenges believers to examine the spiritual condition of their households by asking what would be visible if Jesus visited their homes. Drawing from the story of Hezekiah in 2 Kings, the preacher urges families to prioritize Christ, unconditional love, regular Bible study, and persistent prayer as foundational elements of domestic life. It emphasizes the necessity of godly discipline, order, and peace within the family structure to counteract societal influences and raise children in the fear of the Lord. The message highlights that forgiveness and grace must be actively practiced at home so that children can understand God's mercy and develop a lasting faith. Ultimately, it calls for a consistent Christian witness where worship and integrity are not confined to the church but permeate every aspect of family life.

    (1) Israel Watch 9/9/26: The U.K. (England) continues it's anti-Israel policies joining other countries in banning imports from the West Bank of Judea and Samaria. Internal politics include accusations that PM Netanyahu knew of the October 7 attacks beforehand and delayed calls to IDF chief for 3 hours. Special note regarding that "gay for Gaza" activist murdered by a Muslim. (2) Leftist Propaganda: Democrat propagandists pretending to be journalists claim Patrick Havas attempted to "assassinate" Democrat gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton. Other said he "lunged" at her and had weapons. We see the FACTS that refute this false narrative. And we let Amy Acton speak for herself with screenshots from her official site and video clips of her speaking. (3) The day before the one year anniversary of the assassination of Charlie Kirk, home caregiver Heather Odum Brunton (and others) post videos celebrating what they call the "Kirkaversary" doing gunshot-to-the-neck dances. (4) But Keep Your Sense of Humor! How rare is the sighting of a moderate Democrat? How do you explain the lone male juror hold out in the Lindsay Clancy trial? And for the singles out there, if "Bad English" is a turn off then be sure not to use bad English! https://bbfohio.com

  • Devo 97: You Shall Bless Others
The devotional centers on the profound spiritual significance of blessing others, drawing from the priestly blessing in Numbers 6:23–27 as a model for divine favor, protection, and peace. It emphasizes that genuine blessings—rooted in God's presence, grace, and shalom—are not mere rituals but transformative acts that bring long-term spiritual and emotional well-being. Through personal stories, including a granddaughter's request for a blessing and the family's practice of blessing their daughter at her wedding, the message illustrates how intentional blessings strengthen relationships, sanctify homes, and create environments where God's peace is palpable. The passage is applied practically to missions, homes, and ministries, underscoring that a life marked by prayer, unity, and God's presence produces a visible and tangible sense of peace. Ultimately, the sermon calls believers to embrace their role as conduits of God's blessing, cultivating holy spaces where His presence is unmistakably felt.
