  • THE COMING SURRENDER OF WOMEN TO PATRIARCHY: GOOD OR BAD?
A Biblical Return? Or Desperate Counterfeits? For generations, modern feminism has taught women that male authority is oppression, motherhood is a limitation, dependence is degrading, and personal autonomy is the highest good. But what happens when rebellion against God's created order finally produces loneliness, fatherlessness, broken homes, confused sexual identities, weakened men - and desperation? Isaiah describes a society in which mature and honorable men disappear, women and children rule, the daughters of Zion become haughty, and sin is displayed without shame. Yet after judgment falls and "thy men shall fall by the sword," the situation is dramatically reversed: Isaiah 4:1 And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach. Is our culture beginning to follow a similar pattern? Many women are rediscovering the value of masculine protection, provision, leadership, marriage, motherhood, and a husband's name. That may appear to be movement in the right direction - but desperation is not necessarily repentance. The collapse of feminism could produce biblical restoration for many. But for others, it could produce dangerous counterfeits: polygamy, male tyranny, sexual exploitation, perverse movements, etc. Women must reject rebellion against God's order. But men must also reject passivity, pornography, fornication, cowardice, bitterness, and cruel domination. The answer is not a war between the sexes. It is the surrender of both sexes to Jesus Christ and the ways of the Bible.

  • Searching of Overseers
This sermon addresses the biblical precedent and necessary qualifications for selecting church elders, drawing primarily from 1 Timothy 3 and Ephesians 4. The preacher emphasizes that elder leadership is rooted in Old Testament principles and essential for the church's sustainability, accountability, and versatility. Key pre-qualifications focus on a man's character and conduct rather than mere theological knowledge, highlighting traits such as blamelessness, self-control, and a good reputation. Central to this role is a consuming passion for God and His people, which distinguishes a true shepherd from a hireling. The message urges the congregation to vote with conviction, ensuring they choose men who reflect Christ in their homes and hearts.

  • The Spirit of Adoption, Part 3
In this third message on the Spirit of adoption, Pastor Robert McNutt preaches from Romans 8:12-17, centering on verse 15: believers "did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but... the Spirit of adoption." Because the Spirit's convicting work of slavery always precedes adoption -- as Whitefield said, "there is no going to Mount Zion but by the way of Mount Sinai" -- McNutt traces Paul's argument from Romans 5 through 8 to show that peace with God and bondage cannot coexist, confirming it from Galatians 4:1-7 and 1 John 4:16-19. He then answers three challenges to that liberty. First, texts commanding fear (2 Corinthians 5:11; Philippians 2:12-13; Hebrews 12:28-29) speak of reverence and awe grounded in love, not the torment of a slave; the Christian approaches a consuming fire with confidence (Hebrews 4:16) because the Judge has become his Father. Second, temperament, depression, and even backsliding do not return a believer to bondage: he sins against love, not law, and like David in Psalm 51 or the prodigal in Luke 15, he is driven home to a Father with open arms and the promise of 1 John 1:9. Third, satanic assault cannot impose the spirit of slavery, for the child of God is armed to resist and stand (James 4:7; 1 Peter 5:8-9; 1 John 4:4; Ephesians 6:10-20). McNutt closes by urging believers to stop walking around with a spirit of slavery they no longer possess, to live instead as adopted adult children with every right and privilege in Christ, trusting God's person, power, and promises -- and by calling the unconverted to the Savior who turns slaves into sons.

  • Rom. 7:1-6 - Dead to the Law
Passages of scripture often force us to wrestle first with what the passage is not saying before we can home in on what the passage is saying. Thus, even in the Holy Spirit, we are not to untether ourselves from the Scriptures. We still understand the commands of God by the Scriptures that have been written for us (and to us). What's especially new about the New Covenant is that now, by the Holy Spirit, we have the power to live out God's commands.

  • Covenant Responsibilities
The sermon emphasizes that the family is God's primary institution for establishing covenantal faith and passing down spiritual legacy across generations. Drawing from Deuteronomy 6:4-9, it argues that true discipleship occurs through intentional, constant instruction within the home rather than solely in church settings. The preacher highlights the necessity of loving God with total devotion and internalizing His word to shape a biblical worldview for children. This domestic faithfulness serves as the foundation for strong churches and stable societies, requiring parents to model a life centered on Christ. Ultimately, the message calls believers to repentance and reliance on Jesus Christ for the grace and power needed to fulfill this sacred responsibility.
