  • 26-09-13 Engaging With AI in Spiritual Matters
Engaging With AI in Spiritual Matters Faith Debate: Sunday, September 13th, 2026 (09/20/26 on 930 WFMD in Frederick, Maryland) How serious are deepfakes? Can AI provide true spiritual counsel, as people replace true shepherding for algorithmic comfort? If used for sermons will AI bring bad preaching? Does tech erode understanding that human thought/creativity/relationships are unique/valuable because humans bear God's image? What's the case for/against engaging AI? Is it faithful, or failure, to disengage? If saints don't interact with AI, do they forfeit opportunity to shape it? Will Christian absence interacting mean the training data will skew further from a biblical framework? Is there a responsibility to engage AI development, prompt AI tools with theological content, & work in AI industries as a vocational calling? Or would this normalize a tech whose long-term effects are maybe corrosive? If only secular materialists are shaping AI's values, will the church one day complain about the fruit of a tree it refused to tend? This is part 5 of a 5-part series. • Learning To Work And Pray In Difficult Times
Beloved in the Lord Jesus: As Jacob was getting ready to enter his homeland in obedience to God, he thought of his brother who had threatened to kill him. He had to occupy the land and wait for Messiah, but with Laban returning home, there was yet a two-legged, hairy threat before him. He is concerned about the future of his family, his servants, his animals…wondering if his brother, Esau, would attack him for the things he did 20 years earlier. He knew Eastern people could hold grudges for a very long time. Here's how Jacob dealt with this. Our headings are: 1. Jacob's Preparation 2. Jacob's Problem 3. Jacob's Prayer Our goals are: That you will learn to lean upon the Lord for help in all you daily tasks, tasks that contribute the building of the kingdom of Jesus.

  • I Timothy 5:3-16, Part 2 - Widows in a Welfare State
The sermon explores the biblical principles of personal, family, and church responsibility in caring for the elderly and widows, drawing primarily from 1 Timothy 5. It addresses modern challenges such as the welfare state, professionalization of domestic roles, and retirement planning, urging believers to navigate these systems ethically without shirking their primary duties. While participating in government programs like Social Security is permissible, it never replaces the obligation of family members to provide care and be present. Additionally, the church retains a vital role in supporting those without familial support. Go will give us wisdom to balance present cultural realities with scriptural commands to build strong, loving community connections.
