April 19, 2019 Trip With The Teacher
One more episode before the big one double 0 and PJ picked yet another grindhouse movie for us to watch but this time it's an actual one from 1975! Just look at the title of the movie and the poster, you know what this is about to be! There were lots of tangents this week including us talking about cars on the side of the road, car cigarette lighters, flicking blunts at gas stations, school smarts, dummy kills, PJ has a question for Brent and there's a certain song that is stuck in both our heads this week. Hope you enjoy the show and next week, it's hype time!!!

April 12, 2019 Hobo With A Shotgun (Patreon Pick #2)
It's time to dig into the Patreon bag once again and this time we're given Hobo With A Shotgun to review from the homie Mike Bagford! Brent actually owns this movie so it wont be another From Justin To Kelly situation! This movie is wild and has a lot to talk about but outside of the flick, we also talk about Technicolor, discuss crazy Canadians, the consequences of spitting on people, "tauntauns," old cartoons and the Hustlers show just how sick they are by laughing at extreme violence in this movie and a certain 80's classic. Hope you enjoy the show!

April 05, 2019 The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring (Brent & PJ Haven't Seen)
Oh it's a big episode this week and unlike Star Wars, this is a movie that neither hosts have seen before. Will this be a similar scenario as that? What happens when Brent can't help guide PJ or himself through this three hour movie? There really weren't a lot of tangents this week but there was a lot of questions and confusion. Brent says it early on in the episode, "Struggle is the word of the day..."
This is gonna be fun.

March 29, 2019 From Justin To Kelly - (Patreon Pick #1)
Before we get back to doing our usual random movies out of the bag, we have to do our first movie given to us by one of our Patreon backers. For this inaugural pick we were gifted "From Justin To Kelly" from Brendan and Nathan from the What Were They Thinking Podcast. This movie was a notorious bomb from 2003 that we don't think anyone saw but we have to do what many others couldn't and endure this pain because we do it for you! When we weren't slowly dying inside we also talked about Disney Channel movies, Twilight, Brent has a question about blinds, scheming friends, lifestyle clubs and mad disrespect is thrown out in rage after having to watch this garbage. We hope you enjoy this episode about a movie we did not enjoy!

March 22, 2019 Blackkklansman
It's the final episode of the Black History Marathon and we get to finally talk about Spike Lee's latest film, Blackkklansman. As we figured, this is the longest episode of the show to date and it gets real a lot this week. This one had us really going deep into the film and exploring themes that we deal with on a day to day basis. PJ and The Spirit get into several heated debates about problems with religion, social racism and the ending of the film. We still have some fun though as we also talk about Robocop, hip hop, Shaft vs Superfly, disco and we drink a little bit too. A lot to chew on this week, grab a brew and maybe some snacks and we hop you enjoy!

March 15, 2019 Original Gangstas
As the Black History Marathon comes near it's end we had to finally get this one in! Original Gangstas puts 70's era greats against the gangs of the 90's and the results are movie magic! Next weeks movie is gonna be a lot more serious in tone so we had to have some more fun this week to prepare. Of course other things are discussed, such as PJ's experience with guns and almost shooting Brent with a BB gun, our negative experiences with animals and what we would do if Black people were actually given reparations. Hope you enjoy the show!

March 08, 2019 State Property 2
The Black History Month marathon is still going strong and this week we're gonna have some fun. A while back we reviewed State Property and now PJ finally picked the sequel for us to watch! Last time we left Beans he was about to get locked up but what happened after? Time to find out! Other than the movie we also talk about 2000s era hip-hop, life imprisonment, Southpole brand clothes, high school pictures, PJ's old nicknames, Brent & The Spirits ballet experience and much more of course. We hope you enjoy the show!

March 01, 2019 New Jack City
Black History Month may be over for most but it ain't over here on HVH and this week we get to New Jack City, a classic film that PJ has been dying to talk about! It's no surprise, we love this movie and we're pretty sure it's gonna show this week. Hype levels are high as we sing a few sons, tell stories about foul things happening on playgrounds, PJ has a new love for threatening people with bananas, we discuss the best time to have "the talk" with your kids and at the tail end of the show Brent's brother comes over and sparks a debate with The Spirit about R. Kelly, Russ and we say a few words about Jussie Smollett. Jam packed show this week, we hope you enjoy it and have a good whatever day you're listening to this on!

February 22, 2019 She's Gotta Have It (1986) [Brent's Never Seen]
Unfortunately PJ couldn't record for this weeks episode so I conjured up The Spirit and we talked all about Spike Lee's first feature film, "She's Gotta Have It." I had never seen this before but she had and she has a lot to day about it this episode and as usual for this month serious topics get discussed. We also talk about the Netflix remake of this movie, Jordan shoes, church, sexuality and The Spirit has some words to say about Do The Right Thing that she didn't get a chance to put out there when we did that episode. We hope you enjoy the episode!

February 15, 2019 Hollywood Shuffle
In 1987 it was a different landscape for Black actors trying to make it big in Hollywood and this week's movie, "Hollywood Shuffle" shows the struggles of trying to get in that door but with a comedic spin. Oh yes it's still Black History Month and we finally get to talk about a Robert Townsend movie, his first even! If you haven't noticed yet, this is the longest episode so far and it's because other than the movie we also get into discussions about film making, unnecessary labeling, racist clothing brands, Patrice Rushen, FUBU, Aquaman, Siskel & Ebert, Jeri-Curls, the current state of comedy, the struggles of growing up black and being labeled "soft" and we give our thoughts on the Liam Neeson situation. jam packed episode this week and we hope you enjoy it!

About Home Video Hustle

From the publisher's feed

Since 2017, we've watched films both good and bad and discussed them while also sharing our stories and experiences with the films. We joke, sometimes it gets serious, but we always do it in our special way. We rate movies based on how entertained we are, so you may hear some controversial opinions.
