  • Scientific process would just make a big mess

I don’t know about you (well, I have a pretty good idea about you). But I know I’m not the byproduct of some scientific process. I prefer to think of me as God described it, “fearfully and wonderfully made.”

That sounds so much more creative than scientific process.

And it sounds that way because it IS that way. The fact that you and I were made, designed, by the infinitely creative and one, true, living, loving God sounds just plain wonderful. And it’s much cooler to be here on purpose instead of accidentally.

Now, I know you’ve heard of a double helix. Right? It’s the best illustration scientists have come up with, so far, to represent Deoxyribonucleic Acid. You probably know it better by its initials, DNA. And DNA is scientific proof (not process) you and I are fearfully and wonderfully made.

Not just carbon copies of carbon lifeforms.

Yeah, even the term “carbon lifeforms” contradicts itself.

    Anyway…

I’ll share some tidbits of information about information that’s inside you right now.

    • Almost all the 30,000,000,000,000 (that’s trillion, by the way) cells in your body contain duplicate copies of your DNA.
    • Each human cell contains 46 segments.
    • You got 23 segments from your mom and 23 from your dad.
    • No one else on Earth has the same DNA as you.
    • (facts and figures from “In the Beginning” by Dr. Walt Brown)

Cool, huh? And the information in the DNA is like a blueprint for how to build you. Only you!  How you’ll look, much of how you’ll act, and how every cell in your body will function during your life.

But it gets even more interesting.

If you took out all the DNA from one of your cells and uncoiled it, then you connected and stretched it out, it would be about 6 feet long. But It would be so thin you couldn’t see it. Not even with the most powerful microscope in existence today.

The coded information found in just one cell could fill a library with somewhere around 4,000 books. And if you took all the DNA in your body and stretched it out end-to-end, you could go to the moon and back more than 165,000 times. I call that mighty impressive. And how about this?

The information found in your DNA could fill books that could fill the Grand Canyon almost 30 times. But you could take one set of DNA from one cell of every person who ever lived, put them all in a spoon, and they’d weigh less than an aspirin.

When you ponder the power of the scientific discoveries we’ve made so far, you should start to get an idea of how fearfully and wonderfully made you truly are. And ain’t it better to know you’re made instead of just an accidental scientific process?

No matter what you believe about how life got here, you made a choice to believe it. No one (at least virtually no one) is being forced to believe how we all got here.

So, question. Why would you want to believe you’re just the random result of trillions of mutations? Especially when there’s so much information inside you that proves how wrong that is.

      You’re an information-based life form.

And the fact that so much information is coded into your DNA proves there must be a super coder. The good news is…that coder loves you. He made you a human being  in His image and likeness. And He allows you to choose whether to love Him back or not. Choose wisely. Remember…

You are fearfully and wonderfully made.

There is information locked inside your cells.
When you choose to discover why you’re here,
You’ll find out what the information tells.

And you’ll see you’re not just an accident

Fumbling through the hours, days, and weeks, and years.
All the evidence is pointing out the way.
Trust your Maker. He’ll erase your doubts and fears.

By the way, kids who are sent off to government, indoctrination camps, also known as public schools, will most likely never learn those facts I shared with you. But a lot of parents, who homeschool their kids, make sure they get this kind of knowledge too. Because they realize how much it helps kids grow up with a happier, healthier perspective.

If homeschooling sounds like something you’d like to do for your kids or grandkids, but you don’t know where to get started, consider the Charlotte Mason homeschool method.

    • Charlotte Mason Homeschool is a kid person tool

Lately I’ve been telling, anyone who would listen, that public schools are horrible. In fact, quoting me, here is what I keep saying: “If you truly love your kids, get them out of the filthy government indoctrination camps.” And I’ve mentioned how homeschooling is the best option. Recently, I came across the Charlotte Mason Homeschool method. And I’m impressed to say the least.

The Charlotte Mason Homeschool curriculum includes:
      • Art Instruction
      • Bible
      • Foreign Language
      • Geography
      • Good Habits
      • Handicrafts
      • History
      • Hymn Study
      • Literature
      • Music Study
      • Nature Study
      • Picture Study
      • Poetry
      • Scripture Memory
      • Shakespeare
      • Here’s the snippet of info you’ll find all over the internet when you look up the founder:

This style of homeschooling gets its name from Charlotte Mason, a British educator who lived in the late 1800 and early 1900s. The approach uses rich literature and real objects to present ideas to students through a variety of methods based on the way children naturally learn, and is designed to emphasize lifelong good habits along the way. Instead of multiple-choice worksheets, this style asks the student to retell everything he can remember from the reading or lesson. It also seeks to “spread a feast” of a wide variety of subjects throughout the school week in short-yet-focused lessons, such as art, music, nature study, and handicraft, as well as the usual academic subjects.

I like what this mom said after learning about the Charlotte Mason homeschool method:

She said to educate by faith…

is to have an understanding that God has endowed our little persons with curiosity. It is calming to realize how big a part curiosity plays in a child’s learning. It is not the only feature, but it is capable of doing the lion’s share of the teaching. When a baby reaches his tiny hand for the colorful rattle you hold out to him, he does so out of curiosity. His first steps from crawling to walking are taken out of curiosity. Throughout the day my 2-year-old grandson can be heard to ask, “Wus tha?” as he points to one object after another, inside and outside the house, for the pleasure of hearing his mother name the bird at the feeder, the rain on the windowpane, the car in the driveway. His mother is, in a sense, cooperating with curiosity. She is cooperating with the work of the Holy Spirit in the child’s life.

I especially like that last line that talks about cooperating with the work of the Holy Spirit in the child’s life. If and when you cooperate with the Holy Spirit, you’re on the winner’s track.

And that is exponentially true when it comes to educating kids. Because then you’re storing up treasures in heaven, potentially. And, if nothing else, I’m making sure your kids are taught by someone who actually loves them. Not just by someone getting a paycheck who couldn’t care less about where kids go when this life is over.

If you have kids or grandkids in those filthy government indoctrination camps, that some people call public schools, I urge you and encourage you to check out the Charlotte Mason homeschool way.

      • X marks the spot where I got this thought

X marks the spot where I read what a homeschool mom said about the idea that homeschooled kids don’t get enough social interaction. She said:

        Homeschooled kids:

        • leave their homes,
        • talk to people,
        • read books,
        • play sports,
        • go to dances,
        • play instruments,
        • debate,
        • create art,
        • work jobs,
        • drive cars,
        • build things,
        • perform science experiments, and
        • grow up to live in the real world.
        • And then she finished with this tongue-in-cheek remark:

“It’s almost as if they don’t need the public school system at all.”

And I said X marks the spot because I read all that on X.com

In case you don’t know about that social channel (and it almost seems impossible that you wouldn’t) it used to be Twitter. But Elon Musk bought it. And he likes all his businesses to have some sort of connection to the letter X. Whatever.

          Anyway…

Just imagine. A kid stays home to learn the three R’s from mom and dad, but he can still talk to other people. Wow, that’s explosive news. But that ain’t all. Learning at home also doesn’t stop kids from reading books or drawing and painting. And that woman expects us to believe those same kids can also learn to play musical instruments and even debate?!

Plus, those socially deprived kids drive cars, build things, and grow up in and go out into the real world.

I can ONLY imagine how difficult it must be for them to order off a burger joint’s menu. Because that’s gonna require skills they surely missed out on in those dastardly home schools.

          Yeesh.

Look. If you’re a kid, and your mom and/or your dad are your teachers, you’re one of the luckiest kids in the whole, wide world. Because you get to learn from people who actually LOVE you and want you live up to the potential God put in you.

And speaking of Him, here’s what I recommend…

Start learning about the one, living Lord.

          Put knowledge inside your head,
And when you read something He has to say,
Go back and read what you read.
As you get older you’ll see what I mean…
Go add and subtract and spell.
Then learn all about the one, living Lord.
He made you and loves you well.

Plus, He died on a “cross.” And that X marks the spot where Grace was paid for, forever.

Your email address is all it takes to get encouraging, regular issues of my Tony’s Rhyme and Reason Daily Devotional. It comes directly to your inbox so you spend your valuable time reading instead of searching. And, to show my sincere appreciation for your time and attention, I’ll send you download links to 2 of my Christian books for kids and 2 songs, right away, that grownups AND kids can enjoy.

The form can be filled in the actual website url.

        • Hillbilly ideology sounds mighty good to me

A while back I shared some hillbilly ideology I found online. And it got some funny additional comments and feedback. Recently somebody asked if I would share it again. So, yeah, I’m glad to oblige.

And the picture that went along with the text is a big part of what made me read through. Because it was an old guy with long and gray hair. He sat on a tree stump and held a large, single-shot rifle. So, I figured if there was anyone who fit the bill, it was this guy.

He didn’t call it hillbilly ideology.

He just said it was plain ol’ hillbilly Wisdom:

          1. Your fences need to be horse-high, pig-tight, and bull-strong.
          2. Keep skunks, bankers, and politicians at a distance.
          3. Life is simpler when you plow around the stump.
          4. A bumble bee is considerably faster than a John Deere tractor.
          5. Words that soak into your ears are whispered, not yelled.
          6. The best sermons are lived, not preached.
          7. If you don’t take the time to do it right, you’ll find the time to do it twice.
          8. Don’t corner something that is meaner than you.
          9. Don’t pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he’ll just kill you.
          10. It don’t take a very big person to carry a grudge.
          11. You cannot unsay a cruel word.
          12. Every path has a few puddles.
          13. When you wallow with pigs, expect to get dirty.
          14. Don’t be banging your shin on a stool that’s not in the way.
          15. Borrowing trouble from the future doesn’t deplete the supply.
          16. Most of the stuff people worry about ain’t never gonna happen anyway.
          17. Don’t judge folks by their relatives.
          18. Silence is sometimes the best answer.
          19. Don‘t interfere with somethin’ that ain’t botherin’ you none.
          20. Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance.
          21. If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop diggin’.
          22. Sometimes you get, and sometimes you get got.
          23. The biggest troublemaker you’ll ever have to deal with watches you from the mirror every mornin’.
          24. Always drink upstream from the herd.
          25. Good judgment comes from experience, and most of that comes from bad judgment.
          26. Lettin’ the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier than puttin’ it back in.
          27. If you get to thinkin’ you’re a person of some influence, try orderin’ somebody else’s dog around.
          28. Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you’ll enjoy it a second time.
          29. Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.
          30. Most times, it just gets down to common sense.
          31. There you go. Which one(s) float(s) your boat? Or are you like me and you’re just gonna go for ALL the hillbilly ideology?

And, by the way, once you see the benefit, join the growing body of believers who’ve already signed up for the Tony’s Rhyme and Reason Daily Devotional. I’ll send you daily flashes of light so we can stay focused on faith, hope, and the power of God’s love.

          32. Pro public education to ruin a great nation

Me: “Of course I’m pro public education. Why would you want to keep education a secret?”

A friend: “Actually pro public education means you’re all for public schools.”

“Wait, what?! Well, of course I’m not THAT kind of pro public education!”

A friend: “Whew, thank goodness. I thought you might be a closet Brandon dude.”

Yeah, that’s an actual conversation on the pro public education subject.

That never happened. I just made it up to get you ready for this next rough stuff.

Because I know what it means. And I know it only means trouble for kids. And parents of kids. The only reason I even brought it up is because of some social media posts I saw today. Check out these samples. They’re all from accounts on X.

~ Joe Biden leads the most pro-public education, pro-union administration in modern history. His positive and caring vision for America is one that educators share, and we know he will continue to deliver for students and families.

That was a quote from someone who’s obviously blind, deaf, and stupid. Here’s another.

~ i’m a kindergarten teacher and every day I make my students choose new pronouns and when they recite the pledge of allegiance they have to say “pride flag” instead of “flag of the United States of America” and “gay” instead of “God”

Notice the horrible grammar and typos. OK, depending on who says what, that post either is one of the stupidest ever, or it came from a public school teacher parody account. Even if the parody account version is true, you can bet there are plenty of teachers in government indoctrination camps who “feel” (and write) that way.

And here’s another post that’s even worse.

This “person” used a group of hashtags to send a despicable message out to the masses. Because they want to start their sexual orientation grooming of kids as early 3 and 4 years old.

            #pride #pridemonth #drag #beyou

            #earlychildhoodeducation
            #PrePrimary
            #learningthroughplay #art

Thankfully, there are social accounts who are out there fighting the fight. Like these two posting examples.

~ PSA: Don’t worry about the world’s standards for your kids. They are a failure, academically speaking, and are focused on pushing a culture of sex, racism, and socialism. Ditch the state. And raise counter-cultural children who read, write, and think with excellence.

I love that. Especially the part about counter-cultural children who read, write, and think with excellence.

            And here’s the other post:

~ Our children deserve an environment that fosters true learning & critical thinking, not one that promotes fear & compliance. Public schools have shown time & again that they prioritize control over education.

That one tells the truth, but it focuses on the problem. Not the solution.

Maybe you, or someone you know, is still on the fence about it. Maybe you’re still pro public education. I hope not. But as long as you breathe it’s not too late to do something incomparably amazing for kids. And that’s to homeschool them.

Here’s a hint that it’s a terrible idea to send them to government schools:

The government says it’s a good idea.

This isn’t a problem that comes from politicians with a D by their name. It’s an issue supported, in some way, by 99.9% of ALL politicians. And that means 99.9% are socialists.

Socialism is HERE now. Despite what ANY politician with ANY letter next to his or her name says. And if your government officials have anything to say about it, and they do, socialism isn’t the last step. So, they’ll keep pushing the pro public education agenda till they completely ruin this once great nation.

Now, I’m gonna take my own advice and not just focus on the problem.

            Here’s solution in a rhyme:

You might win a few things in this life,

And you might even win a whole lot.
But you’ll lose everything if you don’t trust the King
Who has given you all that He’s got.

Know that nothing is too hard for God.

He can help you through all of your fears.
If your gold turns to rust, or your diamonds to dust,
Only God can dry all of your tears.

Make the most of the moments you have.

They fly by in the blink of an eye.
Don’t waste time in the dark, jump inside of the ark
Of God’s love. Kiss the old life goodbye.

Before you go, jump on the The TRUTH. And join the growing band of believers who enjoy my books, daily rhymes, songs, and videos about the Rhyme and Reason and power of God’s love.
