An instagram follower recently asked me how I find time to sit and enjoy life in the midst of the everyday chaos, so I decided to answer her in this week's podcast. The reality is that there are several different ways to find joy, but the ultimate key is choosing and creating joy. Listen to some stories I share in this week's episode, and maybe even carve some time to find your own joy today.

All scriptures taken from the NIV version of the Bible.
"...and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." -- 2 Corinthians 10:5
"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." -- 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." -- Romans 12:12
"Though the fig tree does not bud
"Even if I should choose to boast, I would not be a fool, because I would be speaking the truth. But I refrain, so no one will think more of me than is warranted by what I do or say, or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong." -- 2 Corinthians 12:6-10

Why do I even try to get my garden going when it's just going to rain and rain and rain? Or even the harder issues, like why do I even try in my marriage, with my kids, with that friend that is difficult? Whether it's the everyday mundane or the more serious, often times we find ourself asking this question. Today I'm going to go through two scriptures with you, and a whole lot of inspiration, that may help you navigate this difficult part of life.
