Bay College plans to re-start its practical nursing in May at its Escanaba campus. The program was paused in early 2025 after failing to meet state approval from the Michigan State Board of Nursing. Bay President Nerita Hughes says applicants need to have completed the necessary prerequisite courses to enter the program.

First responders in Delta County were called on to make rescues during the snow storm on the Garden Peninsula were access was nearly impossible due to drifting snow. Delta County Emergency Management Coordinator Paul Geyer gave an overall update to the Delta County Commission on the county's response to the blizzard.

Delta County declared a state of emergency Tuesday in order to get help in clearing roads blocked by drifting snow. Delta County Administrator Emily DeSalvo and Commissioner Matt Jensen say it was something they talked about early on to make sure they could respond to the impacts of the storm.

Escanaba Kiwanis will be flipping pancakes this weekend at the annual Kiwanis Home & Garden Show and Pancake Days at the U.P. State Fairgrounds. Gordy Fitch says pancakes have long been the main attraction at the show. They are being served throughout the weekend.
