We are called to witness that Jesus Christ came, suffered, died, and rose from the dead so that we could have a share in His eternal life.  And, whenever we witness the good news, it must be seen from the perspective of the Truth of Jesus Christ.

That is divine mercy:  Jesus on the Cross asks God to forgive us, and all the while he is willing to go an incredible step further and to even pay the price for us. And now what we hear in the Gospel today is Jesus coming into the room of those who had run away, who had denied and betrayed him, who weren’t willing to stand there with him. Jesus begins by saying ‘Peace be with you’ and showing them his wounds.
