To pray is to raise the mind and heart to God. So, if you feel that your heart has become dull, and heavy, try praying with scripture.  Remember, if prayer is a relationship, then scripture is the story of our relationship. It tells us how God has worked in the past, and what he wants us to know about him, about his Son. It can reveal what to look for today and where he’s leading us now.

God also wants to communicate to us in prayer. If, as I mentioned last week, prayer is how we build that relationship with God, it shouldn’t just be us talking to him, it makes sense that he wants to use that time to speak to us. So how does that happen?

Becoming a disciple of Jesus can be thoroughly unsettling. One has no idea what will be asked and how one will cope. It is a risky adventure, but a NEW BEGINNING contains risk! Isn’t risk also spelt FAITH!?
