I want everyone to be found by Jesus, the Good Shepherd. I rejoice so much when someone who is lost is found. I think I actually rejoice more when someone who doesn’t even know there is a shepherd out there looking for them, encounters him, and lets themselves be carried on his shoulders and be brought home.

Jesus today talks about who to invite to a dinner. But when it came to inviting people to follow him, to becoming a disciple, he said to everyone; family and friends alike, strangers and acquaintances, Jesus simply said “Come and See.”

Jesus also says that we ought to strive to enter through the narrow door. That we should work to merit the kingdom, even though we know that it is only through his grace that we can actually enter through any door, narrow or wide.  It’s like St. Ignatius said, “Work as if everything depended on you, pray as if everything depended on God.”
