All right. Welcome to honeymoon mindsets. I'm James Deppa here in Lake city, Minnesota coming to you live. And this is my wonderful wife, Beth, how are you doing Beth? I'm doing good. Do they show we're just going to talk about honeymoon mindset. Just get to know us and who we are. [00:01:00] I said, I'm James. I'm on my second good marriage with Beth together.
We have seven kids. I have five myself. She has two. My first marriage lasted 15 years. It was a little Rocky decided to end it. A year or so later I met Beth at work when I worked for TSA in Rochester, Minnesota, and we got married and 15 five, eight years later, we want to bring what we've learned, what we've experienced and what we've worked on together to make our relationship the way it is.
No right. I'm Beth and her stories are pretty similar. I was married about 16 years. And like he also mentioned, had, uh, two boys from my first marriage. They are now 19 and 22 and trying to navigate life primarily on their own right now between college and work and whatnot. Our situations were fairly similar.
Once we became [00:02:00] friends at work and started talking about things that were going on, I guess both him and I were. Pretty reserved in talking about what was really going on in our lives until we became closer friends. And then it just started to come out and we were able to open up to each other, gain that trust, I guess, and come to find out we were very similar and our, yeah, our friendship just grew.
And eventually, like you mentioned, got married in 2015, but we have learned a lot in the time that we've been friends and been married and. Talking about the different things that we'd gone through in our previous marriages with our kids. And we have come out stronger on the other end and we are over the moon happy and we want everyone to be.
And like Beth said, we kept everything inside. And for me, towards the end of my first marriage, my favorite song, I think it's Kelly Clarkson song. [00:03:00] You know, this better than I do, babe. The one that talks about hitting the bridge pillar and stuff. That's where I was at. That's how I was feeling in my first marriage, because of it.
I wasn't feeling wanted, I wasn't feeling needed, always causing problems and issues. And Beth was there to help afterwards talk and pick the pieces up, helped me figure out why, but we really started going through ourselves, a mindset change just over a year ago. It started with Beth, with her son. Alright.
And we both agreed that if we, we wanted him to make some changes or we knew he needed to make changes, we wanted to make changes in ourselves. And that's where started. So from there we worked on ourselves and then we started listening to Rob dial the mindset mentor, did a challenge there, and then we they've gotten incense involved [00:04:00] with, uh, Tony Robbins and Dean Graziosi.
