Trinity MCC Church of the Trinity is a progressive, Christ centered community of ministry, where everyone matters and belongs. While we were founded in the LGBT community, we are reaching beyond to worship and fellowship with all people. We are an inclusive and diverse reflection of God’s world as we reach out to meet the needs of our church, community and world. e are affiliated with the denomination, Metropolitan Community Churches, which was founded in 1968. MCC has been at the vanguard of civil and human rights movements by addressing issues of race, gender, sexual orientation, economics, climate change, aging, and global human rights. MCC was the first to perform same gender marriages and has been on the forefront of the struggle towards marriage equality in the USA and other countries worldwide.

Rev. Renae Phillips has been serving as the Transitional Pastor at Church of the Trinity since July of 2017.

For centuries, scientists have believed that fight or flight is a reactive phenomenon designed for survival. Recent research indicates that instead of reacting, our fight or flight mode is based on predictions using thousands of memories from past experiences.

After completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Syracuse University, Mariam joined the newly formed Tommy Hilfiger Home Division of Revman International as a Bedding Design Assistant and worked her way up to Design Director in just three short years. Mariam went on to take over design direction for Laura Ashley Home, Nicole Miller Home, and other Licensed Brands at Revman before joining Chenab USA, Inc as Vice President of Design and Product Development.

At Chenab, Mariam was a guiding force in the creation of new lifestyle brands that quickly propelled the company to almost $100 million dollars in annual sales in four years with leading retailers like Bed Bath and Beyond, Kohl's, J.C. Penney and TJX Companies.

Most recently, Mariam oversaw the design and product development turnaround at New York-based Keeco, LLC, where she assembled and led a team of ten design managers and assistants in the effort. Mariam’s team drastically expanded the company’s scope of product from traditional quilt and promotional bed set core competencies to additional product categories including licensed fashion brands, core sheeting products, shower curtains and decorative pillows.

Mariam's extensive travel to manufacturing facilities in Italy, Mexico, China, India and Pakistan has been an invaluable asset in leading teams to engineer product to hit price points. Mariam's understanding of the manufacturing process and her focus on translating the latest fashion trends into highly productive products that drive profitable sales for her retail customers has been a winning combination.

Besides her crushing design talent, Mariam has an accomplished real estate career with Coldwell Banker at the Jersey Shore where she resides in Sea Girt,NJ. Her design talents and customer sensitivity have helped her develop a loyal client following in a competitive market!

Mary Oberdier is the owner of Chasen Tails Pet Care and Founder of Bradenton/Sarasota Professional Pet Sitters. She is also the founder of Bradenton/Sarasota Professional Pet Sitters, a group of pet-sitting professionals in the Manatee and Sarasota counties area and beyond who come together to encourage and help each other be the best at their business.

Mary started her pet sitting business in 2012 after working in the banking industry her whole life. After much research, she started her business and joined NAPPS to become certified, insured and bonded. Chasen Tails is named after her black lab mix, Chase who lived to be 15 years old.

Briefly, Annie is an Acu-Therapist. She has a BS in Finance, Masters in Professional Studies (counseling), A Bachelors in Health Sciences and Masters in Oriental Medicine. Her professional background is extremely diversified.

All has led to this...a Licensed Acupuncturist/therapist. Her office is located in Hollywood, FL

Nathan Bruemmer is the Executive Director of ALSO Youth in Sarasota, FL – a community center focusing on outreach, education, and advocacy for LGBTQIA youth. He is a recent graduate of Stetson University College of Law where he was a member of Stetson Law’s Trial Team. Mr. Bruemmer supports the work of several organizations. He currently serves as member of the Sarasota County Bar Association’s Diversity Committee, is a Board Member for St. Pete Pride, is an Advisory Board Member for TransAction Florida, and serves on the Advocacy Committee of the American Bar Association’s SOGI Commission. Mr. Bruemmer is an invited presenter at local, state and national conferences; with many media interviews from various organizations.

Some people believe that knowledge is power, yet how many people know what they are doing isn’t good for them (eating, gambling, drinking etc.) and day after day they continue acting harmfully? Knowledge is only power when one acts on the knowledge.

Lisa Ramos-Carey is a Certified Professional

Transformational/Political Life Coach and Energy Leader Master Practitioner. Before Mrs. Carey received her "calling" to be a Life Coach, she was an Executive on Wall Street, working side by side with some of the biggest names in the industry at the time, for over 12 years. After the attacks on 9/11, she found herself out of a career and in unfamiliar territory, which left her unsure of her future. Not to mention, two weeks prior to the attacks Mrs. Carey had purchased a house in NJ and her and her three year old son had just moved in. Needless to say, after the devastating events, Ms. Carey found herself in the process of reinventing herself, and not wanting to return to Wall Street, Ms. Carey took that as an opportunity to pursue her passion and embarked on a spiritual journey. This journey lead her back to school and into the path of Politics. Before completing her degree, Mrs. Carey was accepted into the NEW Leadership program at Rutgers University. Upon completion of the program, Ms. Carey was selected to interview with a NJ State Senator and chosen for the position as Legislative Aide. While working for the Senator, Mrs. Carey was reminded of how much she truly loved being in a position of service to others, coupled with the gratification she received from inspiring those she helped, as well. This was the precursor that led to her pursuit in obtaining her certification and training to become a Life Coach. Mrs. Carey also realized her expertise as a coach would be best utilized in aiding women pursue their dream and desire to run for elected office, and also assist them in getting their message across with clarity and conviction.

Mrs. Carey has the good fortune of doing what she loves to do now. Because for as far back as she can remember, she has always felt as if, she was not living up to her full potential. For this reason Ms. Carey, is so passionate about empowering other individuals through the process of partnership and collaboration in reaching their full potential to live out their dreams, tearing down limiting beliefs one by one.

Dr. Wendy Ellis made the decision to become a veterinarian later in life and knew right away that it was a perfect fit for her love of animals and science. She became an emergency clinician right out of veterinary school and has been doing it ever since. A fan of the fast pace, case variety and problem-solving component of emergency medicine, she is gratified to send pets back home to their families. Dr. Ellis likes any case that challenges her to look deeper for answers to problems, but is especially interested in emergency surgery because it gives her the ability to make a difference in a matter of moments.

On today’s show, Dr. Ellis will talk about misconceptions some pet owners have with regard to care and some helpful information on different health-related issues. She will also discuss what is microchipping, how microchipping is done and why it’s so important.

For over twenty years, April Glasco M.A., the founder and CEO of Second Chance Last Opportunity Inc., a nonprofit organization in Sarasota, Florida, has empowered individuals from all walks in life to gain a sense of self-worth, self-esteem, and self-confidence through her teaching, counseling, interpersonal workshops, and speaking engagements. In 1995, no longer able to watch local residents squander their lives, April started Second Chance-Last Opportunity, a 501© 3 dedicated to educating and empowering an invisible population. She earned an MA in Mental Health Counseling from Webster University in December 2011 and is known in the Sarasota county for her unique and effective combination of street smarts, incisive counseling, and unflinching response to the needs of those she serves. April’s also helped empower individuals to dream bigger, think outside the box, and reach their goals by way of self-employment, continuing their education, career discovery. April Glasco completed her education by receiving her Doctor of Divinity Degree.
